  1. Thanks for the advice guys will look into it.
  2. Am going away for six months (not prison) and am wondering what to do with my Aygo? Have come up with a few options but thought I might as well ask on here. Do I disconnect the battery and lock it in a garage for six months?? would I need to do anything else to it? or do I sell it and replace it when I get back, its a 57 plate with average mileage, just a bit afraid I wont get much for it and then there is the hassle of buying when I get back. Anyone done this type of thing before all advice greatly recieved. Cheers MSI64
  3. I filled up this morning before my trip back from Blackpool, filled it to the brim.Set off home, mostly Motorway driving for me. I got a little concerned when I hit 100 miles done and the first Blob still hadnt gone. I got another 18 miles out of it before my first blob went??? A 118 miles was worried myfuel gauge wasnt working. Im a bit heavy footed as well and had the AC at times. Im guessing there must be a lot of space after the tank says its full??
  4. Ok someone help me!! Have been away for five weeks on Holiday, came back and jumped in my car and suddenly my bluetooth is talking to me in Spanish???????????????? So dug out my Bluetooth booklet and found all my instructions are in Russian, Spanish, German and something else? How do I get my English Bletooth back????
  5. 531 miles from reserve tank to reserve tank. no idea of the mpg but was well chuffed with it
  6. I didnt do the service the garage did, it says I need new discs and pads and a new wheel bearing. I couldnt feel any judder when braking.
  7. Sent my Aygo for its first MOT the other day and it failed spectacularly. Brake judder apparently so its 414 quid to get it fixed!!!! Also my front lights are not set correctly. Thing is I got her fully serviced in July by the same garage, I find it wierd that the brakes are wrecked in just six months?? Is this unusual to anyone else??? should I be looking at another garage for a second opinion? By the way I have done 2000 miles in that six months so could it be wear and tear?
  8. Will be selling my baby just after Christmas, Am going away for six months and we are a two car family so it wont be needed. Shame as I love my car. Not sure how much it will go for but she has to go!!!
  9. Paid 129 quid for my 40,000 mile service.
  10. Just had my little baby serviced 129 quid and 40 quid to rebalance my steering. Now it was a small back street garage but by heck did they do a good job. Handbrake tightened feels like new, brakes sorted out and rebalanced realigned. It is like running a brand new car I love it!
  11. I know how you feel. Grantham to Blackpool and back average of 63MPG, I love my Aygo!!!!
  12. If I get a promotion at work and do six months in a sandy place then its a brand new Landrover for me. thats the wifes promise.
  13. Just checked online and my dealer is quoting £169 for a full service including collection and delivery from my home. Have also seen a similair car online with double the milage of mine sat at £6000. a good morning all round
  14. Mine is a 57 plate and has 37000 miles on the clock
  15. Im also possibly leaving the AYGO fold. I have the chance of a job in Canada for three years. I wanted to keep the Aygo on storage for when we get back, however have been told its too much like hard work. Will be sad to see her go. I love my Aygo, I cant do short journeys in it I also seem to go on and on and on. Its possible the mst fun I have ever had in a car!!
  16. I realize that its not too much of a problem, but I still dont want my wife and child to travel in a car that has a potential problem.
  17. Whilst I agree with most of what is being said, After getting home and checking the Toyota GB website, On there is a list of models and ages that are being recalled in the UK!! Its the principal of the conversation I had. There have been no problems in the UK as far as Toyota knows??? thats a out and out lie. The Dealers should know about it if its already on the Toyota website! Am mad because my wife uses the car to drive my son to school everyday. Am wondering how many other people have been in there and had the same answer from him and have accepted that rather than do more digging. Anyway the Aygo is now grounded until further notice
  18. Went to my Local Toyota dealer this morning and was told that There is no recall going on in the UK as there have been no problems and Toyota will contact me directly if there is one. I bought my Toyota second hand from a Toyota dealer, will they hold a record of me buying it or is it just crap from the dealer? I have also moved since buying it! Im concerned I have been fobbed off by the dealer!!! Just to add have just rung Toyota UK and have been told there IS a recall going on, so the DEALER IS A LIAR!!!!!!!! MODS can we name and shame!!! this isnt a leaking window or a broken cd player this is a major safety problem!!!
  19. Thanks guys for the advice. Its going to be a shame to see her go but I think your right. Well at least I can go and get a 4x4 when I move and not be taxed to the eyeballs for the pleasure. Now Do I sell it private or do I go to a dealers? Its average mileage for its age, the wifes car however only has 14,000 on it and its nearly four years old.
  20. I can store it for free, thats no problem but I was also worried about long term effects of storing it. Its only three years but I guess thats long enough, Just a pain to come back to the UK and having to car hunt again. Decision Decisions
  21. Am moving to Cananda for three years. Now am wondering whether to sell my Aygo or lock her away till we get back, In the current climate I may not get a lot for her at the moment but I know I may get less when I get back. However when we get back Im only in the UK for another two years after that and then Im moving permantly to the USA. Am wondering if its worth putting her away somewhere till we return from Canada and then keeping her till we go to the US. Another choice would be to sell my Aygo and keep the wifes car until we return (its a Nissan Note) Any thoughts ????
  22. Nice one Chas, I love that new car smell! I dont think it ever goes away, you just stop noticing it. Or you could always do what I did, Leave a set of wet clothes in the boot, that gets rid of the smell trust me!!!!
  23. Have also wondered, is the tank fitted with Sensors that check the level or is it a ball ***** type thing in the tank???? If its Sensors are they at the top of the blob or the bottom?? What I mean is when the blob goes out does that mean your using that blob or are you using the lit blob??? Does that make sense? For instance when the first blob goes out does that mean Im into the second blob of fuel?
  24. paid 50 quid yesterday for the wifes car to get its first MOT
  25. Did 250 miles yesterday on half a tank, all motorway driving from London to Nottingham and back!
