  1. So,if it's still running then it's not seized,if you mean is the water pump seized, then you need to take the drive belt off then spin the water pump by hand and feel if it's rough or smooth, also check for play by grabbing the pulley at 12 and 6 o'clock position and try and move it back and forth, let us know the outcome
  2. You'll need the chip that's in your key to start the car unless you strap your key out of sight right next to the ignition barrel so the chip can be recognised by the sentinal around the barrel otherwise it will never start
  3. But have you had it coded to the car?
  4. The 202 is the correct one(the first one) but I've seen the 063's on loads of cars cos they're cheaper but the top ones the correct one
  5. It is dead easy, took me 2 mins to change them, the hardest part was parting the plug off the contacts......Oh by the way,I do this for a living and trust me Aygo's are dead easy compared to other cars......lol
  6. Bulb changes are dead easy on the Aygo, try changing a headlight bulb on a Modus, the whole front of the car needs to come off, official book time is 45 minutes and you need every minute too.....lol
  7. I recently took my daughter to Heathrow,300 mile round trip cost me £27.66 which equates to 21 litres, brilliant on fuel
  8. I know and that's why I've gone for the Ring ones......lol
  9. Thanks for all that,I can get my hands on some Ring Xenon Max for £16.80 a pair so I'll give them a go and see if it makes any difference
  10. Hi,just wondering if anyone has upgraded their headlamp bulbs as the ones in my wife's Aygo are cr@p,I'm alright with them but my daughter who is learning to drive in the Aygo thinks they're not bright (but she is comparing them to my car which has HID's).I don't want to go aftermarket HID's as they can be problematic especially H4 type,I was thinking of Cree but I haven't actually seen the results from Cree with my own eyes. What have you got in your's? any help will be grateful
  11. They put a bigger clutch in them from 2009 as they knew about the problem (the centres drop out of them,we've done loads) and even if you have an older model when you do replace the clutch you automatically get the bigger clutch kit....(I'm waiting for the wife's to go anytime as it's a 55 plate and got about 45000 miles up it,oh and retail price for the whole job including gearbox oil and vat is £295.74)

    Resonance

I don't think so as it's just at that particular speed, tyres are new and they're Yoko Blue earth, just wondered if anyone has this same noise at 62mph?
  13. I took the wifes Aygo to Heathrow the other day to pick my daughter up,I got brilliant mileage it cost me £27.36 to do 300 miles but at 62mph I got a resonance a bit like a bass guitar holding one note but as soon as I sped up to 65 it went away, back down to 62 and it was back, slowed down to 60 and it went again,it just comes on at 62mph,any ideas???
  14. Hi everyone,I have a small problem as in I need a 5 speed gearbox for a 2004 1.8 VVTI Corolla Verso and I was wondering if anyone out there knows if any other Toyota has the same box or where I can get a 2nd hand or recon box from, any help would be appreciated, thanks again
  15. Well, she's now brimmed it at 30.45 litres....How much does it hold because I used it again today and the bars went down from 3 to 2!!! EDIT.....she's only gone and put in the high octane fuel......doh so it's 29.33 litres now WOMEN......lol
  16. You can't get the 180mm clutch anymore from anywhere, all the motor factors only supply the 190mm clutch, anyway your's being an 09 it should already have the 190mm clutch in it,we've done loads of clutches in all of the 3 makes, most of the time the centre has dropped out of the clutch, you can tell this by listening to the engine on shut off,it sort of carries on jingling for about 5 secs, lol
  17. Well,it's done it's 2 bar flashy thing at 222 miles which I worked out at 47 mpg but the wife didn't listen to what I asked (do they ever...lol) and only put £20 of fuel in,so I'll have to wait and brim it again but at 47 mpg my wallets chuffed.....lol
  18. Yeah, that was a bit weird,I actually saw it go from 2 solid bars straight to a steady flashing single bar but when I drove it back from where I bought it from it was on 2 solid bars and they stayed solid all the way home which was 45 miles so I can't understand why it did what it did when my wife was driving it!!,its full now so I'll or she will keep an eye on it and see what happens but I reckon that'll be a long time coming......lol
  19. Thought as much, bit like my old mk1 escort mexico I had years ago,as long as this is normal then I'm fine with it,its full to the brim at the most,so we'll just keep an eye on it and customise ourselves to the new baby,to be honest I can't believe the economy of the little car,its working out at 54 mpg,we've been used to sub 20's in our other cars.....might get one for myself......
  20. Hi everyone,I've been a member of the Toyota forum for years as the wife had a Rav4 until we needed a heftier car to move a half ton horse around...lol, however since then I've bought her an Aygo and there's just one thing that doesn't ring true.I bought it and the fella says I've put £10 in which was showing 2 bars on the gauge,40 odd miles later, its still on 2 bars, let the wife have the car and the next day the last bar was flashing steadily so she put £15 in which took it up to 3 bars, today she had to give me a lift back to work and commented that she had done 118 miles and the bars hadn't moved when all of a sudden 2 bars disappeared and the last one started flashing, so when she's dropped me off I said fill it up,so 20 litres later its full???? I thought they held about 35 litres, something doesn't add up here! Any ideas or is this normal, thanks in advance
  21. Your first mistake is to take it to a Halfrauds centre unless you like parting with your hard earned cash,I can't see that it's your water pump leaking as you would be filling up all the time and/or overheating, most noises like you describe are I agree with the others are exhaust heat shields rattling away
  22. no chip fitted to our Rav 4.2 D4D,80k on the clock and get 35mpg round the town and it's for sale
