  1. Hi guys, The title pretty much says it all - the car is now nursing a war wound !! I think it'll need replacing, so if anyone has a spare white passenger mirror, or failing that knows if its maybe cheaper to replace both covers for chrome, as always any advice is helpful. Cheers, Dan

    Headlamp Bulb

Kalbaga, I replaced both bulbs in mine for HB4 fitments. Readily available, comes in a number of effects 'HID', clear white etc. Think I paid £17 for the pair. Only problem is the fitting configuration on the back doesn't fit into the designated slots. All you will have to do is file down part of one of the pins, and it will fit, to quote Mr Ventura himself 'like a glove'!! Hope this helps. Any problems give me a shout. Dan Dan is there a big difference and have you discreetly uprated them to 100w david David, This is me your talking too!! I bought them cos they looked pretty, do you not kno

  4. Thanks Marcos The 2 stripes over the roof were on the car when I brought it ex demo. I was going to take them off, but actually think they look good on the iQ. I added the door strips that come in unpainted black. I had them sprayed silver to match the 2 centre stripes. It also gives a bit of protection if people open their doors on you. I saw David (Tarquin's) iQ with lowered suspension, low profile tyres and alloy wheels. It looked really nice and when he took me for a spin, the car handle brilliantly. I'm surprised Davids car even drives smoothly, seeing as he has made every effort to squ
  5. Blush Blush Blush Thank you Dan we got there in the end Hi David That is the one bugs me. The interior light is dreadful. How much does it cost and are you local to London? Regards Marc Hi Marc, I see David has told you the process and cost, all I can add is some feedback as to how they are working. It seems strange now I have the extra light, how I ever managed without it!! Just little things, looking for stuff in my bag without getting the torch on the iphone out, strapping in my son in the pitch black mornings.. The best thing is when he says he has dropped something. The old mission of
  6. Sorry for the quality of pics, will take a few better ones with the camera, as opposed to a rushed iphone one!! You get the idea though, it does ligt up the whole rear part of the car. Dan
  7. I will take a few shots this evening and upload..... Dan
  8. Just wanted to post a quick message to say thank you to David (Tarquin) who fitted 2 puddle lights into the rear of my iQ, as well as upgrading the main light. The amount of additional light is very helpful, and they also look pretty nice as well. Although a simple mod, was done as professional as any company would have, if not better. Thanks again David, I owe you one. Dan

    Door Handles

They look nice David...... How did you know the new model had them haha :)
  10. What sort of time Saturday Dan David Sorry David I only just saw this - Friday morning if your about at stupid o'clock I'm about, if not I'm actually coming past Gallows corner area on route to Prokit which is off A12 on saturday, if your about then. Dan I would say around midday. Dan

  12. What you going to do with patching out the airbags ? and the seat belt siren Dan No squeaks yet mate David Minor details David haha. I definitely need to see your handy work in the flesh too as ans when you are free. SInce I posted this, I've actually swapped for an iQ2, with the height adjustable lever, and dropping the seat down has made all the difference comfort wise - plus saves whacking my head when I go over the Gallows corner flyover everyday!! With regards the squeaks, I think I put on a previous post - the official line from my local dealer was 'when it's quiet, go up a slip road, a

No problem David, Let me get it weighed, and I'll let you know a price for postage. Dan

    Iq Tonneau

Hi David, I'm pretty sure I have a spare one at home - my son sits in his car seat in the back, so i have no need for either of them really. Your welcome to it, I don't expect any money for it, it sits there doing nothing. Maybe just work out the postage cost and cover that. Cheers, Dan

    Paint Job

I think the one thing that sways me more towards a wrap is that, although there might only be a 3 year guarentee, in real world terms you would assume most panels would last longer. Plus during the next 2/3/4 years of driving, if the bonnet for instance gets peppered with stone chips, I wouldn't like to guess a cost to match the colour with a front end respray. With a wrap, you could keep the overall look of the car pretty mint by just re-wrapping any panel that needs it. From a resale value too, when you peel the wrap off, all those little hairline marks you pick up would be mostly in the vi
  16. That is the same timescales DGT give as well. Good to know more then one company are using them. I guess you can understand the slight extra cost looking at the wheel aswell. They have to strip the whole wheel back to bare and then redo it, not just a case of a little touch up and job done. I'll keep an ear out for the new exhaust too haha Dan
  17. Good old Elite Tyres. Been there years, and still one of the best. £350 does sound a good price as well. From a repair point of view - are they sending it off? If they are, what price? There is a company I use for all my wheels, tyres etc in basildon called DGT International. THey use a company in Kent for all repairs called spit and polish. Very good job and are very well known, about £56 a wheel I think. Just another option if you ever need it. Dan

    Spotted.....

Saw a nicely done black iQ today on the way to work - black wheels, tints number plate ended 10 ZZN. Seems to be a few modified ones in Essex area now. Dan
  19. I get 57mpg as an average (which I'll happily take, as although not someone who thrashes through the gears, at 5:30pm I am thinking about getting home more then mpg) I can go 130 miles without losing a bar, then lose 1 a day! If I get 280 miles before like starts flashing I'm lucky, then of course I fill up when I see cheapest petrol. Don't like leaving it too long when I have my little boy in the car. Maybe my guage is broken and I have more petrol left then I think, I won't lose too much sleep over it though. It's a company car that travels the A127 each day, and some town driving. Dan
  20. Pretty sure I saw you this morning - wheels are looking good, better in the flesh. Dan
  21. Slightly off topic - What part of Essex you from Tarquin? Is that the dealership on the A127? Dan
  22. Yeah I'm with S44GTW on this one. We're all happy to help, no real need to comment like that. Anyway, I have changed my bulbs recently. LA LA is right the HIR2 is the fitment, but they are expensive and if I'm right can only be shipped in (when I last looked the states were exporting them) How I changed mine was to buy a HB4 fitment bulb. The prong configuration on the rear does not fit the slots in the car. I used a file to take off about 5mm from one of the prongs, then it slotted in perfectly. I would suggest that be your best way forward, as HB4 fitments are a lot more readily available, a
  23. I'm not sure about the emissions treatment, but the fee is dependent on dealer. I have 2 dealers, one close to work, one to home. One charges the fee, the other doesn't. With the courtesy car, everytime you get one, you would have to sign a document to say you have checked the car with one of their staff, and are happy with its condition, and if you see any marks etc. Sometimes I've not had to do this, so I always look at it, if someone didn't get me to sign the condition of the car when it left them, how are they to know any of the marks weren't there before I took it. Mine is going in soon f
  24. Hi, I have noticed that on mine at the weekend too, I've had mine from new, and it wasn't like that before. It looks like the window has caught it when I've shut it. I used a knife to pull the seal back down for now, but it is going into Toyota to be checked, so will let you know if they cover it under warrenty. They should do as not a day to day wear and tear part. Dan
  25. Hi guys, It does seem like most of us are either Guildford or London/Essex way. Date sounds fine, but would somewhere middle distance be better? I know a few people said Bluewater in Kent. A lot of cars meet at Lakeside of a weekend, but obviously that's a bit further for some to get to. Wherever it is be good to put some faces to names. Dan
