In my Mk1 C1 I fitted a 3 way component system in the front (tweeters in the A pillar, mids on the dash and woofers in the doors) plus 3 way 6x9's on the rear parcel shelf (unplugable so the parcel shelf could be removed when needed) and a powered sub in the boot on the back of the rear seat so the boot was still usable. The double DIN Alpine system allowed tuning of the crossover frequencies and the time delays to each channel so I was able to optimise the sound stage to be focussed on the drivers seat. OTT for most people but I enjoyed the challenge (and the sound). Won't be going that far on my Mk2 Aygo, if I do anything at all.
  2. Not sure about Toyota colour scheme, but on VW Group black is often power! You need to check with a multimeter not just rely on colours.
  3. One pin of the bulb is powered and the other is ground - are you sure you've connected to the powered pin (side) of the bulb?

  6. My Aygo (and my C1 before it) has almost only had a diet of (now E10) supermarket fuel, on a few occasions I've filled with E5 branded super unleaded and noticed no difference at all.
  7. If you want the new key to start the car then you will also need the tiny immobiliser chip in the key and for someone to program the car to match it.
  8. And be aware that off the highways there may still be signs showing 90km/h, but the limit has been reduced to 80km/h.
  9. The cat on the Aygo is close to the engine under the bonnet not under the car, so its location makes it much harder to steal as the thief needs to open the bonnet not just crawl under the car.
  10. Same here with both the Alpine radio I fitted to my previous C1, and also my previous Skoda Octavia - both had an option to switch to FM when there was no DAB (assuming the station being listened to was on FM also!).
  11. Is it just a tracking device? Some are also an additional immobiliser for insurance companies 'peace of mind'. Check how many connections there are to it - a tracking only device will likely only have 2 or 3 (power, ground and possibly switched power).

  13. A 2019 Aygo bought in the UK will still be covered by the Toyota UK 5 year warranty so the repair will be covered by the warranty.

Having owned several cars with full leather seats I have to disagree, on a cold winter day (well below freezing) an extra jumper doesn't help when you are sitting on a really cold leather seat, a cold bum can be really distracting! Part leather seats, where you sit on alcantara, don't suffer the same problem.

As I understand it both CarPlay and Android Auto make an initial Bluetooth connection to the car, then if no car WiFi connection is available then all subsequent data transfer (e.g. Google maps or Apple maps) uses the USB connection, but if a wireless connection is available then a WiFi connection is used. For cars without wireless CarPlay & Android Auto there are some adapters available, including or wireless CarPlay https://cplay2air.com/ and for wireless Android Auto https://carsifi.com/ (others may be available).
  17. Wireless Android Auto and Wireless CarPlay are not standard features on many cars, hence the need to use a USB cable.

Car manufacturers are required by law to calibrate their speedos so that they never under-read but can over-read by up to 10%, because of this they usually tend to calibrate them to over-read by around 5%. So they certainly cannot be considered accurate because of this legal requirement. I agree with the comments that GPS devices are slow in responding and lag behind, I certainly experience this with my Road Angel speed camera monitor. I have an OBD connected device similar to a Scan Gauge, but smaller as I felt the Scan Gauge was too large and ugly, purchased from AliExpress. As expected comparing this with the GPS speed, when driving at a steady speed to eliminate lag problems, it was 5% over-reading - but since it has a calibration feature I've been able to make it read accurately and without the GPS lag.
  19. Since you've tried other phones and other cable we have to look at the remaining common factor(s), and that's the car. I would say that has all the characteristics of a loose USB socket on the car not properly retaining the connector, so any movement on the cable or bump in the road briefly breaks the connection.
  20. That's something I've previously posted about, the larger gap between gears is definitely noticeable especially 2nd to 3rd so I've had to adapt my driving style to stay in 2nd gear longer to avoid 3rd 'bogging down'.
  21. And has been for many years, back in the last 1970's I drove a "real" Mini (not this current huge BMW monstrosity) and was subjected to lots of bullying especially on my commute to work. Strangely, when I drove the same route in a large motorhome the same cars that had bullied me in the Mini gave way to me... Seems size DOES matter!
  22. With an MMT Aygo I find the hill start assist really useful even though I've been driving mostly manual cars for 47 years, especially when going between forward and reverse. Being able to just move the gear shift without having to worry about the handbrake too with the same hand is a real plus - remember with the MMT you have no control over the clutch. My driving instructor always made a point of saying with any new car get all the clutch/accelerator/handbrake learning (and stalling!) over in the shortest time possible as you could then drive with confidence.
  23. I get near as damn it the same fuel consumption from my 2020 MMT Aygo as I did from my 2008 manual C1 - 52mpg as a long term average, despite 2 apparent 'disadvantages' of MMT and EGR.
  24. Sounds like a dealer with some trust issues? My last 3 car purchases (Audi, Skoda and Toyota) have all had Superguard paid for and applied by the dealer - the evidence that it had been applied was clear to see when it rained, and for how long that lasted before the effect started to fade.
