Help Lost Keys !

Hello

As some of you may notice I am new to this forum and I guess this topic may seem a bit dodgy as a first post. But I assure you I am not here to steal you cars.

I am a car enthusiast just like everyone else on this forum.

I am a regular respected owner on s2ki forum (s2000) and EK9 forum (civic type R) and have been for over 4 years.

So here is my story I recently purchased a 2006 Yaris T3 1.3 this car was for my girlfriend as I don't want her anywhere near my s2000 or ek9 for that matter

During the christmas period she was too busy with her shopping she lost the key the car was purchased second hand and only 1 key was supplied.

After reading service manuals and other threads online I managed to order a sub key from the dealer which allowed me to access the car but unable to start it.

From my understanding to start the car the key has a built in transponder which sends a signal down through the amplifier then the code gets decrypted though the transponder ECU which sends the signal to the ECU once the codes match then the car can be started.

I have contacted the main dealer but they want over 1k to to sort this out.

In theory if I change the ECU, transponder ECU and a pre programmed ECU I should be able to start the car.

So i went on the hunt for a new ECU transponder ECU and lockset from salvage which I have now found and have taken delivery for.

Here is what I done on a snowy cold day I have replaced ignition barrel, engine management ECU in bulkhead, transponder ECU which is located behind coin holder in bottom half of dash board which is in a blue enclosure

Everything has been connected up and when I went to turn the engine over nothing happens the dash lights up but the engine fails to turn over.

Please your help is needed

I've seen threads explaining how to do this on the mk 1 Yaris but never for the mk 2, I'm afraid.

My 2008 Yaris only came with one key and the supplying dealer (200 miles away) posted me a new replacement spare key and actually told me to go to my local dealer to get it programmed (for which they paid...)

The fact that they paid for me to take it to a local dealer to do rather than telling me how to do it myself, suggests that you can't do it on the Mk2 without specialist software... (but I could be wrong...)
