Fitting A Turbo...

Hello!

I was browsing the web and saw you can Pick up "universal" turbo kits from the states for about $850ish...

Would they be possible to fit to my 2005 corolla 1.4 without spending thousands!?

For example could I salvage the exhaust manifold off a diesel turbo corolla and use that? (sorry if that's a really dumb thing to say I'm not overly mechanically minded)

Thanks!

in short no lol everything would need to change to have reliable power it would just be a waste of a perfectly good car. you could put it on the standard hi comp engine and run low boost but its pointless might aswell buy some cams and a ecu IMO

Anything is possible, so long as you have the money to do

there's a couple of problems to get around, one is the exhaust manifold, you'll need a special adaptor for that unless you want to cook your steering rack. the next problem is getting the pipework from the turbo which will be at the back of the engine to the intercooler at the front.

Yes it can be done but it is a ballache

Yes it can be done with lots of money, time and research, but like mr-p said it really is not feasible.

as said the intercooler pipework is a CUNT lol and youl need to make a heat sheald for the steering rack. dont think a deisel manifold would fit either. youl need bigger injectors and fuel pump, an ecu to make it run right . MAP sensor, youl need to tap your sump for oil return and feed. diffrent exhaust sytem. new clutch cuz it will prob slip when it hits boost.. over a grands worth there. then any othere problems you run into. you really need alot of money and make it a project iv spent £4.000 on parts now and engine not built up yet lol
