Genius At The House

Well, it's true, David is an electronic genius, and such a nice guy to boot -I mean also. I have included some pics of his work changing our lights to blue (interior) and fitting DRL's, a rear/luggage area light, and two foot well lights. You just know when someone really knows what they are doing. He made it all seem so easy -but not for me. The poor man got up at 03:00 Wednesday morning, arrived about 08:00, and was still up some time after 22:30, fighting to keep his eyes open. Then he was up early this morning and raring to fit a light in each foot well. But that's not all... if he wants to tell more I will leave it to top bloke David. Thanks for all your all your hard work.

Couldn't agree more with your sentiments gents. The work David did is outstanding and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I was astounded to see David soldering the most tiny -like a grain of sand- LED's to circuit boards. Still, he does have a good pair of magnifying glasses. He didn't let anything beat him, I don't think I heard him swear once, as I would have been doing. I like swearing at things. He's such a a busy bloke too, and unfortunately, I think he may be more so in the future, some retirement that is. Again, cheers David.

:pepsi::thumbsup::driving: Hope you got back okay tonight.

Looks fantastic. Is there any legal requirements in relation to DLRs? As I know with indicators, lights etc there are numerous requirements to be taken into account i.e width, height from the road and so on. Can you just fit them where they will fit best and away you go?

Manufacturers have a set of guidelines regarding DRL's, Height between 250mm and 1500mm and the distance between the inner edges of the two lamps should be at least 600mm. Don't know if those apply to retro-fitted DRL's but it would make sense to stick to those guidelines.

Well i have definitly seen from the manufacturers lower than 250mm. The DRL's Bob is refering to fit perfectly in the outer grills of the iQ and you would not know they were not sold on the car. There are a lot of after market add on's from China that you would not know were not with the car on manufacture. For instance, i have replaced the indicator lenses under the mirrors. They can not be destinguished from the originals but these have puddle lights built in along with a bar of white light that i have wired to the side lights The puddle lights mimic what the dome does. With so many new models on the market nobody would know these things were not there on manufacture. In old days sticking 2 large Lucus spots on the front was obviously not manufactured like it

Cheers Bob, sorry for late reply to your post. Have you ever thought of having any other upgrades to your iQ?
