Ae101 Uk Side Light Replacement Question

Hi guys

Been a long time since I came back here :)

Someone damaged the drivers side light of my Corolla AE101. I am trying to hunt down a OEM part for it. Euro car parts has a replacement part but I have no idea if its any good. Its tempting at £6 but whats the quality going to be like? Worse bit is, it doesnt state who is the replacement manufacture and even a phone call with Euro Car parts, I couldnt get much info out of them.

I did ask toyota how much a it would cost to get a replacement from them: £65. Apparently the part comes from Belgium

I am having trouble looking for breakers yard with this part in London. I am still waiting for some enquiries.

Any other suggestions will be great.

Have you tried eBay? Lot of breakers sell their bits there.

I actually found a OEM unit just now but the listing name made it hard to find it but thanks :D and still found loads of the Euro car parts replacement unit.

if it were me - i'd go with the eurocarparts one. It should have the necessary E marks.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes from the same manufacturer as the toyota one - I mean how many companies would manufacture this part these days with the ever decreasing numbers of this car on the road?

edit: the manufacturer of the eurocarparts one appears to be "Astrum" part number 18-5047-05-2B

Thanks Gareth. Just to make things even worse, someone has now key scratch one of the side panels of my car.....welcome to East London
