On a serious note, I think if they're not advertising you have to write to your Counties brigade HQ, simple as that(I think). Police and Ambulance you do, so I would imagine the sams are the same.

We are not currently taking new applications for wholetime firefighters.

It is anticipated that the next recruitment cycle will be in 2005/6.

Shame you are not London based, or I could have got you some info.

I think its just a little too far.

I have 4 firemen in my family and they all love it (ranging from age 24 to 51).

For most its a job for life.

Good luck

do you know if they could get information such as what regions are currently recruiting etc ??

It's actually quite hard to find out, probably unless you are in the know.

Its not about wearing a uniform, you get to be a hero and have a very varied job.

Jimlad, I will see if my dad knows or can find out about other regions, let me the know the exact areas you would be willing to travel to.
