Headlight Condensation

I own an 05 Avensis, T spirit (if that should make a difference), that has had a problem with a condensation build up in one headlight.

Having read other threads in this forum and others on the subject I gather this is fairly common, and, due to a known condition caused by overheating bulbs (fault! known to Toyota) that was covered by extended warranty. Sadly this warranty has now lapsed.

Not being too keen on the £200+ for a replacement demanded by Toyota, plus fitting and line-up adjustment if you didn't want to do it yourself, I obtained a "good-looking" headlight from a car breakers for £60 which seems fine if needing a little polishing of the outer "glass". My garage tells me a little T-Cut will do the job.

However, the lights fitted to my 05 Avensis have the "half-moon" indicators, I notice that later versions (06 onwards) have a circular indicator. presumably these had the modifications?, If it ever became necessary to replace one or both of the existing headlights, are the later ones a direct replacement - cable connections, fitting points etc - from a cusurosy glance it looks as if they should be.

Those Avensis fitted with the circular indicators also sported mirror mounted repeaters, I can't see this making any difference to the wing mounted on my car, but you never know.

as far as I know they wont fit like a glove as the facelift 06+ has a different bumper and wings ( no holes) . I wouldn't risk it.

I have condensation in one light, I have just left rubber bulb cover off its been like this for over a year 0 condensation and 0 problem with light.
