Had my new to me Yaris for a couple of weeks now and I checked the mpg today and its a very impressive 70.1 ! Well pleased :)

Car mpg indicators are very very inaccurate.

I never trust fuel computers. I zero trip meter fill to neck check mileage when i fill up again. Thats how it should be done everytime. My Avensis computer was within 0.5 mpg every time i filled the tank over a period of nearly two years making it very accurate. Yaris computer is also within 1mpg at first test.

Depends upon the car, I know the Toyota hybrid range always seem to be within 3-4%, so very accurate imo.

If you reset the average MPG when you fill up, by the time it comes to the next fill it is very close to the manually computed tank average (my last tank was manually computed at 63 MPG, computer read 61.0). After 140 miles the computer is currently reading 60.0.
