Auto cut off problem

Hi 

I have a auris 59 reg and am having issues when the auto cut off engages and the engine management light comes on and the car goes into limp mode and won't start.. the only way I have avoided this happening is to not let the engine shut down when depressing the clutch.. has anyone elseexperienced this problem and figured out how to resolve the problem.. any advice greatly received.
