Hi, I have a 2000 Toyota Vitz 1.0, with the built-in CD player in the dash, like the one here:

I was wondering if anyone tried to fit in a new CD/MP3 player in its place. Also, has anyone tried to replace an Automatic Transmission gear stick? Because mine looks like algae's growing on it :help:

Thanks alot

Not sure about replacing automatic transmission gear stick.

Have a look at this thread for fitting cd/mp3 player:

Well my dash has no where to fit the CD player, I'm guessing the existing one must be demolished first somehow :cacker: , hehe

I've had my dash apart quite a few times now, it's easy. Only thing you can do with our OEM headunit is to replace the whole thing, or stick the headunit in the cubby hole, but it looks ****. Check out the link posted by lee_ts51 on this topic, it'll show you all you need for the conversion. Granted, you my not have the shops in malta, but all the info is there!

Well you could always buy the parts off the net if you can't find them in malta, but good luck anyway!

Yeah I'll try that, but I think 1st priority is fitting some Speakers in the rear,

a student's budget is veeeery low <_< boo!
