3rd Gen Hilux Surf Central Locking

I wonder if any one can help?

I recently bought a third gen surf. The central locking works but the remote does not. I have fitted a new Battery to the key fob but no joy.

Toyota can't help but suggested that if the Battery is dead or taken out of the fob for too long then the fob and reciever no longer know who they are supposed to be speaking to.

They suggusted that I find out the procedure for repatrionating the two. Somewhere along the lines of press this button, open the door, press that button.......

Anybody got any ideas???

Have you looked at the unit under the drivers seat, maybe the plug has come out, aslo try taking the works out of the fob and press both buttons at the same time.
