Clarification

hey i just bought a yaris sr so sorry if this is stupid thats whats classed as a T-Sport isnt it? i was going to buy a haynes manual for the yaris incase anything goes wrong so i can fix it but it says doesnt include T-Sport so i didnt know where i could get one that was especially for the sport. any ideas?

Hi Kerry, Unless you have an import, I think it would not be a T-sport. The T-sport has a 1.5l engine, that is the main difference between that and any other Yaris, depending on age/model.

Is an Sr a 1.3l engine or am I thinking of another model, with an S designation? A lot will relate to age / phase, and if imported. Many imports were called Vitz, as opposed to Yaris.

I know Toyota made a slightly sportier model, based on a 3 door, with a 1.3l engine, 15 inch wheels, sportier suspension, exhaust, bodykit, etc and this may be what you have. If so, it may still be (mostly) covered by the Haynes manual.

All in all, the Yaris is quite a reliable, fun little car.

hi its a w reg 1.3l sr 3 door. if that helps? im new to toyotas having only driven a rover since i passed my test 3 years ago.

1.5 is the t-sport

1.3 is an sr, with the above mentioned (exhaust, wheels etc.)

they also made a few others but not sure what they are, I think they are GS, GLS and CDX but i'm not 100% sure.

Haynes manual covers the 1ltr and 1.3 from 99-05

at also covers the 1.3sr which has a similar engine, and engine layout to the t-sport. So technically it should work on the t-sport also.

afaik the only diff between the 1.3 and 1.5 engines is the piston and bore size

SR is the similar engine to t-sport, the other 1.3 has similar engine layout to the 1ltr as does the phase 2 1.3.
