It's not often Rugby hits the headlines... it's a fairly quiet town but it appears our elderly people are causing problems in the town centre... by speeding on their mobility scooters - so much so they've had a telling off by Rugby police!

I kid you not, even Richard Hammond made it part of his Saturday Mirror column!

They've been told 8mph is too fast and to curb their speed!

I always knew my Grandad was a closet speed freak! :lol:

But seriously, there's a guy around our streets that speeds past your door. You've got to be careful because you can't hear him what with the Battery power!

It broke down one day, I asked him if he wanted a hand, but he said "no" and promptly hopped off and pushed it up the hill!!! :huh:

Walking speed is around 3mph so 8mph is nearly three times the speed limit...............I say put up safety cameras and fine the buggers :yes:
