Trip Computer

I've been searching threads and google and still haven't been able to come up with a definitive answer on two fronts regarding the trip computer on my 1.8 T3-X.

One is that is there a way to reset the average mpg? It seems that all the other functions reset when I start a new journey but the mpg only resets when you refill, is that correct? I almost thought I saw it reset once before I refilled but I may just be imagining things.

The other thing is the range readout. A number of threads indicate that things on the computer aren't entirely accurate, but also mention that there is a computer chip fix for it? I know when I recently refilled the range given was about 370 miles. I believe this is calculated off of the previous trip's average mpg?

I'd appreciate insights into this as the computer on my old Altea seemed to work fine!

Pretty sure you have to reset the av MPG yourself. Just hold in the button until it returns to 0

I've never know a Toyota 'range' function to be accurate enough to trust it! lol

Was in an Auris demo saturday and there were 2 bars of fuel left but the range said 2 miles! I did alot more than that when i went to buy my lunch lol.

Mart.

Nope, none of that works. It reset itself again yesterday, really annoying as the average it was reading was starting to make sense. Ah well, it's in the garage tomorrow to have the rear windscreen replaced (heater matrix is interfering with the radio) so they're going to look at the computer then, looks like they may have to replace that reading some of the threads on here.

Hi. I realise it is 8 months since you reported this, but I am having a very similar problem. About half the time the average mpg resets as the fuel reading approaches 1/4 full and then starts to give a reading based on miles travelled since that reset. This only happens with mpg. None of the other readings are reset.

Did you get any further with it after leaving car into garage?
