Anybody here hered of an engine rattle that comes in about 4000rpm under load driving anything under this it's fine, seems to be coming from the top end

had a stethescope on rocker cover but could not pin point anything.

You could try taking off the aux belt if you havnt done it already, but not for long like. Think the water pump is on that. See if the rattle is coming from anything being driven by that?

That wont take long to do, good place to start
