T-sport Paint Problems!

Hi guys,

I got a bit of a concern.

I have a 51 plate (02 reg) T-Sport in Chilli Red, just covered 60K miles. Recently I've noticed what can only be described as little "pits" or tiny white dots appears on my rear spoiler, the other day I came out to my car and 2 spots (either end of the spoiler where it becomes thicker towards the joins with the roof) have gone to full on bubbles, one of which has broken and the paint underneath has started fading.

Each of the 2 bubbles are around 2inches in diameter with lots of tiny little white spots still all over it.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

I've having some paint work done on the boot soon to cover a rather large scratch which I picked up in a supermarket (discovered after buying my shopping, think it've been hit by a trolly or something), I'm going to point it out to the guy and see if he can do something about it, does this sound possible as it's the spoiler?

thanks.

Hi

This usually occurs when a respray has happened and solvents have been trapped in by the lacquer, either the base coat hasn't been properly dry or it could be solvents from the plastic itself. It could also be water that was absorbed into the undercoat when it was flatted down prior to being top coated, and is now coming through, this can take years to show up. If you are the first owner and know that it hasn't been resprayed them go to Toyota, they may pay, it’s worth a try.

It can easily be fixed by respraying, if you are having the boot done then it will not be so much extra, they will sand all the defects off and then use a plasticiser to help to adhere the paint back on.

Good Luck

Pete

Why would anyone in the UK send off for a tin of spray paint from abroad when every Halfords in this country sell colour matched spray cans.....

Or is this a blatant advert...

I think you should improve your English if you want people to fall for your scam.....

Maybe a moderator can kick this bloke off here, all his posts are trying to sell stuff from a dodgy website....
