Kwikfit For Mots

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone had ever got an MOT done at Kwik Fit on any car?

I'm after general opinions on them, as I need to get the Yaris it's 2nd MOT and the nearest place to work is a Kwik Fit.

All my cars and Craigs cars have been MOT'd at Kwikfit.

They are generally pretty good and nobody i know has ever had a problem with them.

Everyone I know who has had an mot at Kwikfit has had to have "work needed" to pass but when looked at don't need the work, they are just trying for more money, like brake pads or imbalance, then when taken to another garage its not been a problem!

I would rather go to a well-known and recommended local garage than a big chain like Kwik Fit...

As I posted before, tests are not done by garages, here in Ireland, but by specially appointed Dept Test Centres.

When I leave my car in for its pre test service, I mention that I have a test coming up. They always say that they will check the obvious things & just bung her in for the test & let them tell me what they want done. They reckon that however thorough they are, the Examiner may turn up some stupid little thing.
