Toyota Camry Cd Player Not Recognizing Cds

Bought the car today... It worked for about 15 minutes - - then stopped mid-song. Spat the CD out and turned off. I put the CD back in, it turned back on, said "disc in", five seconds later, ejected the disc out. Repeated the same thing about 26 times. What gives?! It's not recognizing the CDs and I'm irritated. It didn't display any error messages. Tapes + Radio work fine. Camry 2000.

Could be as simple as dust on the lense or as complex as the mechanism itself is failing. Were they official stamped CD's or ones you've written yourself? Some CD players are fussier than others when it comes to reading CDR's.
