As the title asks, how easy is it to change the oil sump as mine is badly corroded and weeping continuously. I have the 1999-2003 version 1.0L petrol.

Let me know if you are still trying to find out and I will consult the good ol' Haynes manual!

Yes, I have priced it online but haven't hitched it right up yet to have a good look for if it looks simple or not.

Thanks.

Never done one on a yaris but changed a couple on an old golf i used to own.

Basically you drain the oil then just undoo the bolts and off it comes.

Clean the surface mating area up and replace with a new gasket then tighten up in a criss-cross series.

The key is to have the mating faces as clean and smooth as poss for a good leak-free seal so i used some wet/dry paper to get things smooth before putting the new one on.

You can also use some good gasket paste aswell to seal around the joints after they have been tightened.

Hope this helps.
