Hi, I have a 2023 Yaris in the UK and use Android Auto for navigation (WAZE). I find that at night the "Touch" screen dims too much (the instruments are OK, it's just the touch screen. Is there a way of either adjusting the dimming level or disabling the feature ?? I cannot find anything in WAZE or Android Auto settings. Regards, Dave

IXEH20TT and SC16HR11 are for construction year Nov' 2013 onwards. So, that leaves IKH16TT (Iridium TT) and SK16HR11 (Iridium) to choose from. Denso IQ Spark Plug If you prefer fitting NGK instead, you'll need ILFR5T11. NGK IQ Spark Plug

Best Fuel Grade For Yaris Hybrid

Are you quoting fact with 100% certainty or your opinion because you know what aught to happen, I know the theory but there’s a lot of deluded experts that will pay a fortune for a HDMI cable. -
There's always someone in a forum who can't wait to say if someone posts years after the original. What difference does it make? Why aren't these old posts deleted then if they are out of date? I'll tell you, because we'd all see repeated questions after repeated questions. People add to present new ideas or what happened to them. Guy posted to help whoever reads what he wrote... and he wrote a great idea that happened to help him. Go on now about me too, I guess. sigh.....

Best Fuel Grade For Yaris Hybrid

The point is that with analogue signals loss of signal and/or interference produces gradually increasing deterioration of the end result. On pre-digital TV snow or ghosting was common in such cases. With digital signals there is either all or nothing - the digital cliff as it's often called. There is a transition from all to nothing but it's very distinct, so the zone of (eg) watchable to unwatchable is minimal. If you look at your TV or set top box signal data you'll probably find 'signal strength' and 'quality' displays. The former can be practically anything, but if the latter is <100% you may have picture problems. The strength just tells you where the problem may lie. So yes, you can measure losses in HDMI cables. But in most (99.99%) cases it's irrelevant to the quality being transmitted. In most domestic installations HDMI issues are from cheap, poorly shielded cables catching interference from adjacent cabling for power, etc, - nothing to do with signal loss from connectors. Gold plated connectors are not a bad idea, because oxidation can be a problem, but exotic conductor materials are rarely significantly better than copper, or aluminium (or even steel for low currents). -

This is a strange logic. You could apply it to almost any purchase, a house, a holiday or even beans. I doubt hardly anyone whose car is terminally ill will say they’ve saved the difference in the same model with a petrol engine over the last five years. -

I don’t believe that’s true. You can get losses in a HDMI cable although you need to be an audiophile to see it. They can measure it with the right clobber. -

Do you need one wheel or all 4? If you after new set of wheels you can call your local dealer or check eBay Toyota official store or Toyota direct parts website. eBay vendors may offer used ones too. - Yesterday

Hi All, new owner of a 2011 1.0 auto. Some questions on spark plugs as I’m seeing more than one listed as suitable The previous owner had changed them. I checked today are they are Denso IKH20TT. On parts site I’ve seen SK16HR11 mentioned and SC16HR11 I noticed that ILH20TT is listed as suitable from 11/2013 I thought these engines stayed the same during the production run. The car has a bit of a shake at warm idle that I’m trying to troubleshoot. What plugs other 1.0 owners using? Thanks a lot. Already loving that I only need half a parking space.

2005 Yaris steering feels notchy/sticky with gentle movement

Many Thanks. Its been driven very rarely over the last 6 weeks so perhaps it just needs a bit more regular use to loosen it up then -
2005 Yaris steering feels notchy/sticky with gentle movement
Cyker replied to Yarisnewbie1's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
My first guess is it's probably the lubricant/grease in the splines that connect the steering wheel to the shaft that goes to the rack starting to dry out. If yours has reach adjustment you can try moving the wheel back and forth a bit to see if that will spread the grease around more, but chances are it needs regreasing, which I'm lead to believe is a bit of a PITA job... -
1.8 or 2.0 Corolla hybrid approved used?

Well it must be more relaxing knowing they can leave their cars running at a crime scene without it randomly suddenly catching fire like the diesel BMWs -
It's a slightly deceptive statement - The real reason they want to get rid of 2G and 3G is they run on an older-style of back end; It's a bit like the old pulse dialing vs the newer tone dialing on landlines. At the moment, they're running a back-end network for 2G/3G and another one for 4G/5G - If they can get rid of 2G and 3G it means they can shut down all the back-end associated with it, which will certainly save resources and energy, but requires 4G and 5G rollout to match which will consume resources and energy too. Probably more since many more masts are needed for 5G to have the same coverage as 2G and 3G! We've already noticed more signal issues with our 5G users than 4G and some colleagues have reporting having to disable 5G at some sites to stop it flopping between the two. The 2G switch-off will take longer than 3G just because so many things run off it - When it goes dark, a lot of half-forgotten telemetry stations will go down and things like weather stations and other remote monitoring stations, car SOS systems, remote alarms and warning systems, smart meters etc. that haven't been updated will just stop working. It's a bit of a crisis in the background at the moment, and there was even talk of ways to emulate 2G on the new back-end to try and mitigate the huge expense of upgrading all this unsupported equipment, although I don't know of any country that's even begun testing that.

Did you ever find out the cause of the front end noise?

Hi. Can anyone help please -
My granny, used to smoke Woodbine and drank lots of tea from a teapot, which used to sit on top of the range/stove stewing all the time. 😃😆

Yeah we don't have many brick'n'mortar banks around either, is a pain in the proverbial, and given this is London I dread to think how you're supposed to visit a bank in a rural village! I do find petrol stations and supermarkets the best places to go to get at a cash machine though, although I usually pull on the card reader slot to make sure nothing's attached to it before putting my card in as there've been some cases of card skimming reported in the past!

TonyHSD replied to Debator's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
Metropolitan police and some other counties are using Corolla TS as patrol cars and all of them are icon 1.8. There are some commercial units too with the same engine. Officers seems happier and more relaxed 😉👮♂️ -

It does get a bit annoying passing under bridges in slow traffic, doesn't it? 😄 My main issue with auto headlights is that they breed complacency, and that can become a problem when it turns foggy, i.e. normal fog - not the rare kind where visibility is so poor that the foglights are called for. It's very easy to forget to turn the headlights on in daylight fog once you've got into the habit of letting the car do everything for you. But the car doesn't see fog, only the light level!

Help, my infotainment screen works but is very dull.
Devon Aygo replied to Lewis Nix's topic in IQ Club
Turn on your headlights then using your "Trip" button (up by speedo display) press and release the button repeatedly and it should cycle the Odometer display through ODO, Trip A, Trip B, Light bulb with a scale when you see this press and hold the Trip button and the scale will cycle through brightness settings, release when you are happy then briefly press and release the trip button to return to the odometer -

Hi Raphael, given the symptoms you've described, the most likely cause is a faulty fuel level sensor. This sensor is responsible for measuring the amount of fuel in the tank and sending this information to both the fuel gauge and the onboard computer that calculates the fuel economy and range. When the sensor malfunctions, it can provide inaccurate readings, which would explain both the erratic fuel gauge and the loss of the fuel economy/range display.Hope this helps.
