Yes they deviate and debate is good but i find that once you get on to certain debates (Climate change being one) you may as well open a new thread as it's unfair on the OP who is looking for answers to a certain question. Okay the gun law was a bit left field but it was for some reason discussed too often on a watch forum i was on.(Yes it was a UK forum only)

I would pull the fuse for the indicator, the relay, disconnect the indicator and hazard warning switches, one at a time to eliminate possible causes. It sounds like a combination of poor grounding, a short and a stuck relay.

Lots of excellent replies , thank you all, good to know it's not just me. It seems to be a 50/50 split around extra soundproofing. Shufman, what sort of Michelins did you buy? I've noticed Yokohama do a tyre with a 67db rating, I know this is the outside noise but it stands to reason that if it's quieter outside, it's quieter inside. Be good if somebody has these and can give some feedback. Cheers Carl

It annoys me that the CC changes in increments of 5mph - I usually set it at 53mph in the 50's on the M4 in Wales, and If i happen to miss that exact speed and use the + or - then I'm either doing 47mph or 52mph - bugs me 🤬

So, given a choice, which do you prefer? Recently we have experienced bright sunshine through 9am with cloud cover during the day and clear skies from 6pm.

Wing Mirror replacement part number
PEL2112UK replied to inteli7's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
I strongly advise everyone to avoid this seller. I ordered a plain, unpainted power folding door mirror ffor a MK2 2013-2019 Auriss, at 9am on a Saturday just gone. The website said "IN STOCK". It states FREE STANDARD DELIVERY. When I phoned on Thursday to ask why it hadn't arrived, they rather sheepishly gave me the excuse 'they'd had a sudden rush of orders for this part', although the website said "IN STOCK". Apparently it was in stock on Thursday and ready for dispatch. It's now Sunday (8days later), and I don't have the goods. Although it's free standard delivery they've still charged me £4.50 for shipping and handling. They said they had it on Thursday, it's 48hr tracked (I haven't received a tracking number, and their customer service have ignored my two e-mails), and supposedly dispached on Thursday, according to the man on the phone, yet it didn't arrive on Saturday. So I wonder what's next, maybe they'll blame Royal Mail? I have to drive up to Warrington on the motorway tomorrow with a badly vibrating driver's door mirror. I'm now wishing I'd bought a cheap, non power fold mirror on e-bay and taken my time to find a reliable seller. At least I'd have a received it by now. -
12v battery maintenance, issues, etc.

@Derek.w that sawtooth graph shows a steady drop in immediate start voltage (a downward slope) taking each low point. I have noticed a similar negative gradient with regular short trips. The time in Ready mode meets the recommendation but has less benefit than a straight hour in Ready mode or an hours driving. My conclusion is regular charging is the best solution if your driving is made up of short trips, say 15-20 minutes. -
Most Forums deviate, just an exchange of information... why stifle debate ? What does the gun laws in the USA have to do with cars ...a bit off-topic huh ?

Hi All, Ordered Aygo X last month, looking at end of July delivery, anyone else looking at same lead times on recent orders. Still looking forward to getting it.

🤣 That was my first reaction too. Whether we all agree or disagree, I'd love to see the evidence where pollution has effectively increased as a result of ULEZ. Cyker may be on his own because even a Trump or a Farage isn't that ignorant. As a commuter from Kent to central London from the late 90's to 2005 and having friends living all around London who I visit every few years, I can assure you the city is a different place. I never contemplated moving to nearer the city for that very reason. Our office was in High Holborn and especially during summer months, I can remember sitting at an outside pub table nearby with the air blue, tears in my eyes and choking - I couldn't sit there for more than 15mins. It's now completely changed. The same can be said for many parts of the London area. It's nonsense to suggest otherwise. Just read an article on Autocar which the naysayers may want to read, all about the USA in the 70's. History repeating itself. 70's USA I don't lagree with the way the ULEZ and it's likes have been implemented in cities across the UK, I'm not 100% convinced a reduction in emissions is the main goal, but there's no denying the air is much cleaner. !Removed! hell, you just need to walk down Renfield Street in Glasgow today compared to just a few years ago to notice the vast difference. It's incredible. Perhaps Nox has gone to the deniers heads. Either that or they're watching too much GBnews 🤣

Can i suggest for the sake of the OP this thread has gone off topic so if you want to discuss your Google science on climate change you start a new thread and discuss it on that. I have been on many forums and somehow whatever the thread is someone always turns it around on to climate change,Brexit or American gun law. I hope this forum isn't the same.

This is actually another issue. Certainly, if you set 30 in a 30 zone it will kick off if the car does 31. However this is not the same alert as when you physically drive at 31. If you set the CC to 50 in a 60 zone, as you noted, the set speed is in a green box with up arrows. Now suppose you crest a rise at 50 and the car momentarily exceeds the set speed you will get the same overspeed warning even though you are under the limit. The Toyota advice here is to drop your cruise speed by 5 mph as you climb a hill. This will give you a better mpg. Best way to achieve this is briefly cancel the CC, apply throttle to maintain-5, allow the speed to build up after the crest and re-engage CC. Or just drive without CC 😀

That's nothing to do with PCP and everything to do with daughters ... 😄
-
Do take time to read whatever they send you, my daughter had a secondhand Yaris on a PCP deal and, although she knew the final payment was coming up, didn't realise exactly when. This resulted in a "Dad, would you please transfer me some money quickly before my bank account goes massively overdrawn." (it had the be by 2ish the same day). They had told her, but she missed it with other things going on in her life at the time, and I'd already agreed to lend her the money on an interest free loan. That was for several thousands, mid teens might have bounced, which would have resulted in who knows what troubles.

Yes, no and maybe ... I agree on the subject of anonymous beeps - the driver should have the option to receive visual alerts only. Which is the default for the older system in my car - so I'm happily driving without [those particular] beeps. There's no reason why Toyota couldn't comply with the current legislation AND allow a recognised driver profile to opt for visual alerts only. And, maybe, they do but ... The system shouldn't allow any tolerance - the law doesn't. We really should adapt our driving style to comply with the speed limit in effect on the current stretch of road. Yes, I know, I don't either, but the visual alert reminds me that I should, and I am trying, honestly. My car is equipped with "Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Road Sign Assist (vehicles with RSA)" so I would expect that yours is too. You will need to enable the function - I suspect that it is 'off' by default (RTFM). When DRCC RSA is enabled the DRCC set speed can be increased/reduced to the recognized speed limit by pressing and holding the “+RES”/“-SET” switch. The DRCC most certainly does keep to the set speed (unless there is a slower car in front) but it is up to the driver to set that speed. Personally, I really would object to the car deciding to change the set speed for itself - that's the driver's job.

I changed the Falkens to Michelins and noticed a big improvement 3 db or so on rough roads at 70 mph. No difference really on the smooth stuff but the ‘step’ is a lot less jarring. I wouldn’t bother with extra soundproofing but it’s up to the individual. The noise is generally about the same in all similar cars with big wheels in my experience.

It’s my first time I’ve had a coating applied by a specialist company, so time will tell if it was worth double what dealers ask. The new CHR is a big step up in refinement over the outgoing model. I’d advise an extended test drive in both a 1.8 and 2.0 if they have both, there is a massive difference in the refinement of the two drive trains. The looks are marmite but we 😍 them including the bi-tone.

Steering wheel crook lock device for Aygo X
Crickleymal replied to Yve1961's topic in Aygo & Aygo X Club
I bought a cheap steering wheel lock from Temu. It's fairly useless but acts as a visual deterrent. When I worked in Bristol Royal Infirmary (2002-2011) we had a security lecture from the police. The basic gist was that if thieves want your car they'll have it. But you can deter opportunistic threats by removing all stealable items from the car, don't even leave loose change in there because a junkie will break your window to steal it. Leave your gloves box open to show it's empty etc. Covering stuff over with a blanket or rug doesn't work because thieves want to know if there's anything under the rug.
