Hi, that’s interesting. Does the car indeed slip when cornering or it’s just giving you these feelings? What is the tyres condition , how the pressure been checked and what is the general health of your car, mileage? Also where do you drive, dirt and sand , rough asphalt or nice and smooth road surfaces? There are many questions to be answered before we can suggest you something. Generally speaking the main reason for these will be worn out tyres, low or too high pressure, suspension problems, excessive speed, lose stones and sand on the road.

Messages reading out volume
Extreme_One replied to Neptuneblue's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
I was fairly sure this is determined by "Navigation Volume" under Settings -> Sound & Media At least that's how it works on mine, I have no issue hearing messages when they're read out and I do listen to music fairly loud. -

Post 2016 hybrids and most other cars equipped with connected services has indeed 12v battery if not used daily. Previous models without these extra electronics only had issues if you really leave the car for weeks without use or only use occasionally and for short drives. Plus many older models has an AGM type batteries which seems better suited for hybrids imo.

Misuse of mini (white spot) roundabouts.

Alan, I think I can recall something of this nature. But I would imagine that an ongoing maintenance procedure would be necessary to keep such a system both working satisfactorily and safe. And councils are not very good at that, are they? In our area, and I believe it is a national situation, road markings are becoming so worn as to be barely visible from the driving seat, and this is even worse in wet weather. But councils keep coming up with new bright ideas that add to the installation of more road markings, which in turn increases the difficulties in ensuring that the markings are maintained in a state of good visibility. What council officials are lacking is sensible Time & Motion study. Examples: (1)Our neighbour had a white line painted across his driveway. Two wagons turned up- two men in each. The two men from one wagon, set about painting the line. The other two stood in front of their vehicle and watched the work being done. Then, after a little chat, all returned to their own wagons and drove away. (2) A roadworks with a one way system - temporarily traffic-signal controlled. But, at each signal, there was a fellow just standing there with a stop/go signboard Why? Was it because they thought the signal system was likely to break down? Add all this up countrywide, and a fair amount of taxpayers’ cash is wasted annually. -
Did mine this week bought 10 oil filters from Toyota for £53 and some Fuchs oil - 4 litre for £25 took me an hour but really enjoyed having a go myself

Which 12v battery to buy for my 1998 Corolla 1.3
TonyHSD replied to olddriver's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
For batteries and for all other parts actually always check dealers prices first as often they offer better or same price as aftermarket. I bought recently a new battery from a dealer and it was the cheapest option by large margins in comparison to aftermarket ones. -
When I'm going round corners or round abouts the car seems to be slipping the tyres and air pressure have been checked and are fine but the car continues to slip

Hi, The interior light can’t be responsible for draining your 12v battery in 20-30 minutes., it can help but really your 12v battery it seems already dead, espoused if it’s the original one. Check hybrid system error can be non hybrid battery related issue. This needs to be confusing by running a diagnostic. You can buy an obd 2 adapter and use app on your phone check and clear any error codes but you will have a picture of what is not right. Disconnecting a 12v battery to reset your ecu will only eventually clear the codes but they will come back again shortly after you start driving. For the hybrid battery, depending on mileage it is very likely to be dead and you may need a new hybrid battery too. Here my two posts about batteries In Auris hybrids and how I replaced them by myself. May help you deal with yours. Good luck 👍

We have the same problem and I am convinced the birds are recreating the dambusters. They always hit the same area on our patio along with either the top or the side windows of the car. They swoop down from the trees and then carry out low level bombing. They never seem to run out of ammunition. We always clean it off as quickly as possible with a wet paper kitchen towel as I believe the bird poo has some acidic content that will ruin paintwork if left.🕊️

I was given a bottle of bug shifter when I got my Corolla 4 years ago. Fortunately our pigeon tend to remain on the other side of the house and the web-footed ******* hawks don't frequent these parts. I went to use the bug shifter and found the spray nozzle clarted with green gunge. I wonder what is in it.

Misuse of mini (white spot) roundabouts.
Primus1 replied to Haliotis's topic in General Club Discussions
Wasn’t there trials a few years ago for a new speed bump?, if I remember you could drive over it at less than 20mph and it would barely be felt, anymore than this it would harden and become rigid like a normal speed bump, I think it had some type of gel inside that would react with the speed of the vehicle passing over it.. -

I always use a soaked paper towel and leave it on the poop to soften it; It should just slide off. Don't try and scrape it off as that'll risk damaging the lacquer - The adhesive qualities of bird poop are surprisingly strong!

I would think it's possible that the rings that the sensors read could be badly corroded and/or very dirty, rather than the sensor itself being faulty. Have a wire brush to hand as well (though if the teeth are far gone the ring will need replacing).
