    Is it eCVT or CVT

Using the full handbook's guidance, I changed the LH display to a rev counter. It is fascinating to glance at it as I drive. At 40 - 50 mph on the flat the revs are around 1500 rpm or nil when on e power. Even accelerating achieves a maximum of around 3500 rpm (that is without flooring the accelerator). Today I drove around 18 miles and kept the maximum speed down to 50mph and achieved 59mpg and about 60% on e power. The engine management system is brilliant! I'd never go back to diesel (mileage too low), PHEV (my experience with the Skoda Octavia's software issues have put me off for life), pure petrol (not economical enough), manual gearbox ( a pain in heavy traffic) or DSG. Although the 6-speed and 7-speed VAG DSG's were smooth, the longer term reliability issues with either clutch or mechatronic faults have put me off. The eCVT seems the perfect transmission system for ease of driving particularly in a hilly area like N Yorkshire and most importantly its robustness.
  3. I can well believe that Tony and I remember asking on more than one occasion what oil had been used (and this was in the early years with it) and Toyota dealer actually used to say '5/30 semi synthetic'. I never got to see any paper work either because it was on a 7 yr service plan and they reconned they had to send all the documentation to the company running the scheme. So not a great experience tbh.

    Day time running lights ?

It does feel that way!! That reminds me of a junction I went through some years back where some total knob had put the lights so far forward you'd have to stop at least a car-length before the stop line otherwise you can't see them! It feels like they were supposed to install repeaters on the other side but whether there were budget cuts or they just forgot who knows! But clearly nobody drove through that junction to test its usability before signing it off as being acceptable!

Recently brought a Toyota regius 2.7 ltr year 2000 but it needs a dip stick I cant seem to find a match anywhere any member have any ideas of where to look or even if you have this van to give me measurements of the dip stick length and I can try and find a copy i would be very grateful
  7. Hi all, we got this sorted last week. It turns out that the wiring going into the front sensor, was ruptured. Upon closer inspection, the red wire inside the loom which connects it, was snapped. All the others were fine. Reconnecting this with a wire join, clearing the code, taking it for a drive - and it's gone. Had we bought a new sensor that would have been £80 - £160 down the drain and no solution. If you have this issue please trace back your wires and check for these 'obvious' but hidden signs first before playing part roulette. It solved this one 🙂 thanks for your replies above This car was accidentally crashed into a garden wall at the start of the year, slipping in ice at the bottom of a long hill.. It's been rebuilt recently so the broken wire is most likely a result of that. Everything else seems to be fine since it's been rebuilt / re-aligned.

    Is it eCVT or CVT

Ooh really? Interesting... that must have a different dash to the others I guess? I'm only aware of the analogue dash on the Icon and the 'binocular-style' full digital dash for all the other grades on the original cars...

    Trying to locate Toyota Hilux

Hi Sarah, I don't know if you have checked but the MOT ran out on 24th July 2023 so it possible the vehicle is off the road.Have you any record of who your dad sold it to. Its really difficult to trace as the DVLA won't release the owners details. There are private companies who can do this but it isn't cheap.Hope this helps good luck.

    avensis oil change diy enjoy.

You're probably fine with a 10W40 oil. On my 2004 Corolla 2.0 D4D (152k miles) I use a 10W30 as specified in the Toyota handbook. I find I don't need to top up between oil changes. Best value I can find is a fully synthetic Mannol Energy Engine Oil (7511) which you can buy 5l for under £15 including postage. This is good spec API SN/CH-4, ACEA A3/B4 oil.

    Phantom road works?

If you live between a pub and university accommodation they are placed there for the students on Freshers to place upon their heads, and then scream a bit while pulling the wiper blades back on cars in the road.

Found it, thanks for that....boy that kick plate panel is so flimsy it's unbelievable 😂. Is that wiring in the photo for your dashcam ?

Depo headlamp assembly for 2014 Auris

There's instructions with the Depo telling you how to do it. It's just that the plastic is pretty inflexible. The motor fits in the headlight no problem
  16. Thanks, I will try that one. Unbelievably the 78mm one is out of stock!. Hopefully you are right as the biggest reading that I got was 79.2, but the lowest was 78.3mm, but obviously I couldn't measure flat to flat, as there is an odd number of flutes/flats! THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE TRIED TO POST, HOPR IT WORKS!!!

    2005 RAV4 D4D

Hi, I've a RAV4 2005 D4D Model CLA21R It's won't start, just cranks over. If I give it a spray of EasyStart in the Air Filter box she starts up OK. There are 2 error codes, picture attached. I've tried replacing the Air Mass Sensor on top of the air filter box but no difference. I also have a new Coolant Temperature Sensor but can't seem to find where it goes, I found the Air Temperature Sensor. Any hints, tips clues as to what to try?

    Yaris Cross Fuse Box list

I know where the two fuse boxes are under the bonnet on my 2021 Yaris Cross, but where is the one inside the car ? I presume it was the fusebox inside the car which they piggy backed to for your dash cam ? I had a quick look around where the OBD socket is, but I couldn't see a fuse box, is it behind the plastic cover that surrounds that area ? And could you tell me exactly which fuse the dealer tapped into, was it the 15A fuse which is circled in the photo?

    MY24 Yaris Cross

Ordered Excel about 2 weeks ago, now in-build, estimated 11 June and potentially sooner. Had a look at the Design on Scarlet, their demo which just arrived. We are getting the Excel in that colour. Also a look at the khaki Premier In the show room. I would sat grey/green. This one had Continental tyres.

Depo headlamp assembly for 2014 Auris

I wouldnt tamper with the depo pattern part. Its likely the toyota electrical adjuster wont be to the same physical spec as the depo manual adjuster.
