It's a bit hit and miss - Most pre-Euro6 diesels fall foul of the ULEZ, but there are a few that somehow don't! The trick is the NOx emissions - If you can find official documentation, e.g. a Certificate of Conformity or V5C, that shows your vehicle produces less than 0.08g/km of NOx, you can submit it to TfL and they will exempt your car/motorcycle/bus/truck/spaceship/etc from the ULEZ. It's all about that magic 0.08g/km of NOx figure. I know someone with a Euro5-rated diesel Hyundai i30 and it's somehow ULEZ compliant!

How to permanently disable excess speed notification?
Beefstah replied to Beefstah's topic in Rav 4 Club
Oh yes, I forgot about my GRY occasionally reading signs in kph. However that doesn't beep at me about it, so it's not a problem. -
It's an old diesel, anything diesel pre 2016 pays ulez yours being a non EU Hilux that one has no mot or tax it incorrectly states 0g/km so it will be taxed at the pre 2001 rate

In the 70s I used to visit a small computer facility on the West Coast of Scotland, it was a clean room facility and slippers were provided. In the room were dust devils, large clumps of dust and hair blowing around the cabinets. The chief programmer was a local Scot with a 1st Class degree from Cambridge. It was assumed that as she was female she would clean up. Marconni eventually gave in and employed a local. It was expensive as they had to get security clearance. I was amused to see Ann Mcdonald cleaning up before the cleaner arrived. I know why she did it though, but a good reason why some managers need regulation and guidance.

I think if you lock the car with the physical key instead of the remote fob it also shouldn't arm the alarm

This is semi-normal - The HSD in the Auris is forced to run the engine all the time at higher speeds and even if the electric motor is powerful enough to keep the car rolling on its own it can't, because a quirk of the way MG1 is connected to the ICE means it can't spin fast enough to keep it still so above 40-ish mph the ICE is forced to spin no matter what. This means the car can't leverage the hybrid side as much as would be optimal so you're effectively driving with just a very efficient 1.8L engine. One of the biggest improvements in the new ones was a reduction gear between MG1 and the ICE, which allows MG1 to spin fast enough to keep the ICE off up to just over 80mph That said the discrepancy shouldn't be huge as the 1.8L should still be extremely efficient when cruising (Assuming you're not going full beans constantly or accelerating too briskly!) - You might want to check the wheels are all aligned correctly, tyre pressures are all up to spec, and there aren't any brakes stuck on or dragging!

How to permanently disable excess speed notification?

My most hilarious one so far has been when it thinks the speed limit is 20kph on a 40mph road -

When I worked for a machine tool company, two of our machines were taken to a show in Earls Court, London. A couple of our electricians were also sent to connect them into the power supply (they had to be union members). When they had finished the wiring, one picked up a brush to clean up the bits of cable strippings - WOW! He was pounced on in milliseconds and told to stop.

Without a doubt, the Unions did a good job and the workforce needed them. It was unfortunate that they turned so militant and used the muscle of the masses to virtually cripple industry. It might have worked better if they could have become politically neutral - working in collaboration with whichever party was in power. Although I was a member of an engineering union, I voted Conservative and withdrew from the political levy. One shop steward did try to force me into paying the levy, saying that my political views did not fit into Trades Union policy. I upset him by saying I hadn’t realised that the unions were communists, and he did stop when his area representative told him to back off.

I drive a Corolla 2005 and have started suffering from extreme piroformis pain in my right glutes when driving, a lot of online tutorials say to keep your legs in parallel and not tilt it to the right like a lot of us do. This is what you are told normally: But this is impossible for someone with piroformis, it aggrovates the nerve. I need to keep it more like this, excuse the heel... No idea why they chose that picture. How do i manage this? Every time i try to place my foot like that, i just floor it, no matter what seat settings i use, the pedal goes straight into the ground, unless i actively try to hover it in the air which is doable for like 20 seconds until your leg cramps... Why is the accelerator so easy to push down anyway? I wish there was a way to solve this. Any help is appreciated. Hugs

RSA alerts when car is well below speed limit
Cyker replied to Yve1961's topic in Aygo & Aygo X Club
If the system is like the Yaris one it's 'normal' and nothing can be done about it unless Toyota stop pretending it's not a problem and tie the RSA to your units setting instead of its current auto mode. The basic problem is the RSA will randomly interpret the signs as Kph instead of mph. Nobody knows why, although there is speculation if it sees signs on the right hand side it thinks they're kph but in my experience it hasn't been consistent and just seems random. -
