I have these in my shopping cart on the Halfords website - how do they perform on hot days? Say a hot Spanish motorway? Any major problems of running these all year?

I sold my Aygo nearly 2 years ago, how do I delete my account please?
  8. Pump the brake pedal and if it comes up and there is little movement, they need bleeding. Its recommended that brake fluid is changed every two years as its hydroscopic and can absorb water and cause spongy brakes.

    Excel vs Premiere Edition

I wonder if the standard Yaris is also made in France I wouldn’t normally buy a French car but as it’s got Toyota/Japan behind it that’s ok

Swapping RAV4 for a Yaris Cross

I'm not a fan of side steps, I keep bashing my songs on them. The Premier Edition comes with 360 cameras 🙂

    It had to go

My wife has always had new cars and usually changed at 5 years old. Was never a problem with petrol or diesel cars. The diesel Auris was fine and we never had any issues at all with it.

Yeah 35Ah is quite low I’m guessing using the car every few days is enough to keep the battery topped up ok I am just thinking what if I left my car at an airport for 3 weeks would I come back to a dead car? I will now get my coat 🤣

According to Goodyear the difference in fuel economy between each class in the European tyre labelling (e.g. class A to class B) is approx 0.1 litre per 100km. So at current prices around £14-15 over 10,000km (around 6,200 miles). https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/learn/eu-tire-label-explained.html

@ninanina The 12V battery is 35Ah (20Ah less than a battery in a conventional car). The battery’s job when starting the car is to activate some high voltage relays so the lithium battery can then supply power to electric motor MG2 (which starts the petrol engine when required).

Maybe it is indeed a tech issue they will resolve in time. There were certainly problems initially with being able to register the car and entering the mileage in the app.

Hi Irini,a strong gas smell as you say could be due to a fuel leak in the lines, tank, or filler neck. Fuel leaks are dangerous, so I would get this checked ASAP. It could also be related to the EVAP system, which controls fuel vapors. A faulty purge valve, vent valve, or charcoal canister can cause a fuel smell, especially when the tank is higher. The stalling and check engine light along with a catalytic converter code indicate a problem with the air fuel mixture. This could be caused by a bad fuel injector, a clogged air filter, or a malfunctioning MAF sensor. A check engine light with a catalytic converter code might also point to a failing catalytic converter or faulty oxygen sensors. I would avoid filling the tank past the automatic shut-off, as this can overwhelm the EVAP system. Take your car back to Toyota Cyprus and explain the issues, stalling, check engine light etc,and tell them about the catalytic code. They should run a more detailed check. If you don't get any resolution try an independent garage they may offer a fresh perspective and locate the exact cause. Remember that if you keep your fuel filter clean and replace the air filter on a regularly basis can help prevent the stalling issues. I hope this helps.

There seems to be more differences between the MY23 and MY24 Excels. JBL sound and wireless AA I think are new for the MY24

I'm just a bit astonished that anyone would buy a brand new hybrid, or any type actually, knowing it's going to be a second card and rarely used. If you don't do the miles then the economy is never going to repay the cost. An ordinary, low spec, car, maybe 5+ years old, would make far more sense, surely.
  22. I think that this is unlikely to happen because, if I understand correctly, the new Regs are intended to make turning off certain 'safety' features less than simple. Such that it can be done but not by pressing one bespoke button (as you can with LTA). I think that I did read, on this forum, of a car (not a Toyota but possibly a Lexus) that had a facility for the owner to create programmable buttons on the centre screen; each button could be programmed to carry out several tasks with just one press. That would be a neat solution.

What is the Ah of the Yaris battery compared to other small non hybrid cars? If they are roughly the same would I be right in saying that this problem could be worse in the non hybrid car? Ie. If the car isn’t used regularly and the battery gets depleted the non hybrid car will take a lot more out of the battery than the hybrid one due to having to crank a starter motor rather than just spinning up the electric motor in the hybrid car If that’s not correct then ‘I’ll get my coat’ 😆
  24. I was changing various items on my 2024 CHR multi media 12.3 including the the treble & bass controls. I have gone back to change the treble and bass settings I applied but the option no longer shows. All the other options are showing.

Make sure you do all these adjustments in ready mode or your 12 volt battery might die.
