Obviously the statues have slipped into the temporal displacement field. They could reappear anywhere, watch your heads.

Just re read your post Cyker, and yes this bit. Why we can't have repeaters at car driver eye level on the traffic light post, the same as France and Belgium, maybe other places, baffles me. I have to look through the sunroof sometimes to see the lights.

How to permanently disable excess speed notification?
Nick72 replied to Beefstah's topic in Rav 4 Club
So if in 2 or less button presses I could disable it I'd be happy. Not happy is trying to find it in multilayered menus for 2 minutes every time I set off. Even being able to set the warning at 3mph above the limit would be helpful since that will be closer to the actual speed limit given the fast Speedo. Is it a legal requirement then for the system to enable beeps and visuals each time the car is started, and illegal to have a cancel it forever switch, or cancel just the beeps forever switch. The car already sounds like a Nintendo Gameboy. 😂 -
This is the official use for cones. They may have misplaced the statues, which would explain why the cones disappeared.

Hi Christina,It sounds like there could be a couple of issues. Regarding the coolant splashing out, it's possible that there's still air trapped in the cooling system, causing pressure build up. Bleeding the air out of the system might help. However, if the radiator cap feels secure and you're still experiencing issues, it might be worth having a mechanic take a look to ensure there are no other underlying issues causing the pressure buildup. As for the heat only working on the driver's side, a clogged heater core is indeed a possibility. It could also be an issue with the blend door or actuator. Again, having a mechanic inspect it would be the best course of action to diagnose and address the problem accurately.Hope this helps.

That's a good point, I wonder if that actually happens sometimes. When I worked on the roads (construction of and resurfacing) the diversion routes off and junctions with rejoining major roads were worked out and put on a drawing by the planners, and the cones, lighting sets and signage etc was set out by the traffic management contractors. I always did a couple of drive throughs to make sure this actually worked properly before the diversions and road closures became live. If course, this was all carefully designed and implemented to cause maximum disruption and inconvenience to the motorist. While myself and the road crews sat on our backsides drinking tea and laughing like drains at all the chaos caused. Well you would think that we did from the amount of drivers shouting abuse and threats at anyone wearing a fluorescent coat and hard hat ,working hard through the day and night to maintain the route to keep them safe. I think they assumed that the road crews up to their eyes in hot tarmac and all weathers picked a random bit of road to build or resurface, and not government and highways departments in the various counties. Edit: especially on the night jobs the temporary junctions would often be wiped out by asleep and drunk drivers, so further delaying works.

This is a beautiful country, once you take the time to look at the scenery. The Good Lady and myself recently returned from Newcastle, back down to Berkshire. We did the journey through the backroads and tried, as far as possible, to avoid the motorways. We passed through small villages, back country roads, and had a chance to admire the scenery. Yes, it took much longer than the usual motorway dash, but it was far more enjoyable.

Hell to everyone First time owner of Toyota, hope you could help rookie with question or two regarding installation of maps? 3 days ago I bought our first rav4 2.5 hybrid,(family car) 2022year, very happy with car, noticed no maps (only trough app over phone) started asking around how to get maps (where to download and how to install?) on our family car so we don't have to connect our phones with cable every time we need google maps , and came across your group . Really would like/hope to get some help from group if possible? Link? Also question, will this have any effect on my 3 year warranty if I am installing software on my own? Thank you for helping

Using the full handbook's guidance, I changed the LH display to a rev counter. It is fascinating to glance at it as I drive. At 40 - 50 mph on the flat the revs are around 1500 rpm or nil when on e power. Even accelerating achieves a maximum of around 3500 rpm (that is without flooring the accelerator). Today I drove around 18 miles and kept the maximum speed down to 50mph and achieved 59mpg and about 60% on e power. The engine management system is brilliant! I'd never go back to diesel (mileage too low), PHEV (my experience with the Skoda Octavia's software issues have put me off for life), pure petrol (not economical enough), manual gearbox ( a pain in heavy traffic) or DSG. Although the 6-speed and 7-speed VAG DSG's were smooth, the longer term reliability issues with either clutch or mechatronic faults have put me off. The eCVT seems the perfect transmission system for ease of driving particularly in a hilly area like N Yorkshire and most importantly its robustness.

Yaris 1.33 Dual VVTI - when was oil consumption issue fix?
Mooly replied to Spagboll's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
I can well believe that Tony and I remember asking on more than one occasion what oil had been used (and this was in the early years with it) and Toyota dealer actually used to say '5/30 semi synthetic'. I never got to see any paper work either because it was on a 7 yr service plan and they reconned they had to send all the documentation to the company running the scheme. So not a great experience tbh. -
From LAS VEGAS, 6th generation Celica 1999 lift back manual

¿Necesitas un manual de reparación para arreglar tu auto? (google translate) -
It does feel that way!! That reminds me of a junction I went through some years back where some total knob had put the lights so far forward you'd have to stop at least a car-length before the stop line otherwise you can't see them! It feels like they were supposed to install repeaters on the other side but whether there were budget cuts or they just forgot who knows! But clearly nobody drove through that junction to test its usability before signing it off as being acceptable!

Yaris MOT Failed - Running Rich AF / Oxygen Sensor
SB1500 replied to SB1500's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
Hi all, we got this sorted last week. It turns out that the wiring going into the front sensor, was ruptured. Upon closer inspection, the red wire inside the loom which connects it, was snapped. All the others were fine. Reconnecting this with a wire join, clearing the code, taking it for a drive - and it's gone. Had we bought a new sensor that would have been £80 - £160 down the drain and no solution. If you have this issue please trace back your wires and check for these 'obvious' but hidden signs first before playing part roulette. It solved this one 🙂 thanks for your replies above This car was accidentally crashed into a garden wall at the start of the year, slipping in ice at the bottom of a long hill.. It's been rebuilt recently so the broken wire is most likely a result of that. Everything else seems to be fine since it's been rebuilt / re-aligned. -
Ooh really? Interesting... that must have a different dash to the others I guess? I'm only aware of the analogue dash on the Icon and the 'binocular-style' full digital dash for all the other grades on the original cars...

Hi Sarah, I don't know if you have checked but the MOT ran out on 24th July 2023 so it possible the vehicle is off the road.Have you any record of who your dad sold it to. Its really difficult to trace as the DVLA won't release the owners details. There are private companies who can do this but it isn't cheap.Hope this helps good luck.
