    OBD not working

Also I saw a post with details on how to remove the port and panel but can’t find it now. Clearly haven’t mastered the search yet
  3. Thanks for replying Bob. It is a 2013 RHD car. All 3 brake lights are out. I removed the bulbs to test them with a 9 volt battery, both filaments (stop and tail) in each bulb are intact and lighting (no internal shorts tested with a DMM), high level LED array the same. Codes show a switch issue. I have replaced the switch although the original switch checks out fine. It is actually 2 switches in one unit, one normally closed, the other normally open which swap duty when the pedal is depressed. I am probably going to purchase a genuine Toyota part but I suspect the issue lies slightly deeper.
  4. That's what Toyota sell on the other side of the planet from (eg) the UK. You can't really compare them with anything from another market. See also a very recent thread about YC in UK vs Bermuda ... different car.

  6. Ah nuts, that's unlucky. Thanks for the heads-up!

    Yaris Cross arm rest

Could use a roll of that famous soft toilet paper and it could have an emergency use also.🤔😉

    Yaris Cross arm rest

Naw they only used to come in packs of 5 and in 10 packs. Anyway the strong smell of them could never be sealed in.😡🤪

    Auto wipers not good enough

I wouldn't mind if it triggered the sidelights, but often when it's raining it does not warrant the use of your beams but that's the only thing the auto lights will switch to for some reason.

    Auto wipers not good enough

Agreed, its a slight iritation for me too, that when auto wipers sense rain that the auto headlights don't switch on.
  11. You know someone's a northerner when they think Lincolnshire is "Down South"
  12. The mind boggles as to what other sort of women you have down South/
  13. thanks for the advice folks, just trying to book in now with the mobile dent guy
  14. It seems a real generation gap when it comes to fighting for this country. Young people today face a much tougher economic landscape. High housing costs, student loan debt, and stagnant wages that make it hard to feel invested in a country where basic needs are a struggle. This does lead to a feeling of disconnect from the government and a lack of motivation to fight for a system they feel doesn't work for them. Warfare has changed.Technological advancements mean battles are less about large scale ground conflicts and more about drones and cyberwarfare. The long wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, along with the current conflict in Ukraine and extensive media coverage, have made the human cost of war a stark reality for younger generations. Love of country doesn't to them have to look like traditional warfare. Today's youth express their idea of patriotism through activism and civic engagement. They may be more likely to fight for social justice or environmental causes than for territorial gain. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to veterans who fought for our freedoms. But the government needs to address the concerns of younger generations and show a willingness to understand their perspective. Young people need to feel invested in the country's future. If they don't, no younger generation will ever consider defending this country.

    OBD not working

Hi All, just got my first IQ. A 1.0 auto RHD Tried to plug in a Bluetooth dongle into obd port but getting nothing. Also tried an older style obd reader. Has anyone had similar? Next step is checking if I have any power. I did check the 7.5A fuse (passenger side fuse box) and that’s ok
  16. Hi J,You're right, the current RAV4 has been around for a few years without a major powertrain overhaul. While the 2024 model year did introduce some cosmetic changes, the hybrid system itself hasn't been updated to the latest 5th generation system found in the Corolla.
  17. Welcome to TOC Przemo.
  18. Rhymes with Paris

Mandatory conscription if Tories win the election.

They are pretty dangerous round here anyway with just electric scooters, mattress fires, and leaping about screeching and throwing things, never mind guns. In fact only today I was driving back through the high street and a a shirtless mindless creature was fighting and shouting at a couple of female women. He looked to be getting the worst of it however, with abrasions on his chest, and lumps on his head. I don't think he had read the memo, thinking can cause lumps, thinking you can fight that is.
  19. Been a long time lurker here. Have a 2021 corolla icon tech. Wanted something higher off the ground as don't like lowering myself into the car, call it age. Also wanted all the bells and whistles, which I thought I would not miss, like folding wing mirrors, auto wipers. I'm surprised how much I did miss these things. Thought it would take a few months to come. The dealer said in about 11 days. Have said we want the plug in charger that Toyota are offering for free before hand, then the car. Looking forward to getting the car. If Toyota did the Corolla Cross would have got that instead, I think...maybe.

    RAV4.5 rubbish sat nav.

Please explain what setting takes you off a motorway, down winding that’s, through housing estates with 20mph limits to bring you back on at the next junction? Shortest? Fastest? Eco? All this in the middle of a 300 mile journey? Don’t blame the user, that is what the Post office did with Horizon and look at how that has turned out.
  21. The top trim Yaris has 7 inch screen and manual handbrake, comes with 16" wheels. Regular fuel is 91 ron, so we have it good here with 95 Ron? Maybe we just pay more for higher Ron.
  22. thanks for the reply. the current rav4 model is around a while now, I see it was updated with the newer 12.3 multi information display and I was wondering if the hybrid system was updated.
  23. Just what we need chavs with guns..
  24. Flatcoat

    RAV4 mpg.

M5 is the least worst option for us. It typically takes us 8-9 hours from home to St Mawes, this time it wax over 10…… had a fixed tow ball on my first couple of tow cars, shin bruisers!

    Auto wipers not good enough

I know what you mean sometimes mine don’t seem to wipe when it starts to rain, other times it will do one wipe on a perfectly dry screen, I liked the ones on my Ford that, if the wipers came on in heavy rain, the headlights came on too..I think that should be a feature on all cars with auto wipe
