Auto high beam - does it actually work properly?
nielshm replied to mikmikmikmik's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
There's no official update. At some point it did improve just a bit, maybe there has been some adjustments, but not a proper effort to really make it better. I wrote a complaint to Toyota Denmark, and the answer shocked me. They have no knowledge to any AHB not working properly, and since it's not a problem, it can't be fixed. Now that's a straight lie. The dealer had multiple costumers complaining, and all he could do, was to send it to Toyota, and hope some fix would be made. -
Oops, I have a dyslexic keyboard ☺️

Stationary voltage is to low, should be over 14.

Clearly a place where a car cover would be useful... or anti-avian guns!

Ah indeed they didn't! I wonder what the nature of this leak is...

Where my mother lives in North Yorkshire East Coast, I cannot believe how much bird crap is literally caked on all the cars parked up!! Not just cars but floors, walls, even front doors! All the cars are the same colour as the gulls really let it rip all over the place. I swear over the last couple of years, it has got alot worse. I fear leaving my nicely washed Green Yaris parked up when I visit because when I return, it's literally covered in a thick layer of crap. Nasty stuff.

Well after investigating further my dealer says for some strange reason the options I don't have were removed for MY24 and I don't have any connection issues. -
I got the design with the safety pack so a lot of what I wanted came with that. I love the blind spot monitoring. In the excel I liked the lumbar support, the height adjust able passenger seat - although my passenger isn’t bothered. I’ve had keyless entry and push button start before but now a bit worried about the safety aspect - but I did like it. I didn’t notice a lot of difference in the ride but maybe I’m not that observant. It’s definitely firmer than my Nissan note which was a lovely comfortable ride. It didn’t have adjustable lumbar support so thought I would be fine without one. I do have a problem with degeneration at the top of my neck and occasionally my joints flare up so I’m hoping that it’s just my body getting used to Toyota cars as my last 4 have been Nissan so similar. I love the Yaris- even though it’s a bit battered at the moment. I did have a Yaris hire car in fuerteventura years ago and was fine with that.

You shouldn't use ordinary polish on a ceramic coating. It will remove it.

Auto high beam - does it actually work properly?

On my old 2021 Corolla the AHB wasn't at all reliable, it would often cause me to be flashed by oncoming traffic. The AHB on the new 73 plate is amazing, pretty much flawless. -
anyone have an issue with scheduled charging on BZX4?
AJones replied to gingertips's topic in Toyota bZ4X Club
To be fair it can be very simple and reliable, you pick an electricity tariff with a fixed set of off-peak hours every night, like Economy 7 or one of the simple EV tariffs, you switch off any smart controls at the charge-point and set it to be ON 24/7, then you configure a charging schedule (timer) in the vehicle which matches your tariff's off-peak times. The vehicle wakes up at the set time, charges, goes back to sleep. There's very little to go wrong. I've used this approach with the PHEV for several years and never had any problems charging at home. By comparison, the operation of the smart dynamic EV charging tariffs is far more complex with a lot more potential for things to go wrong, because it is reliant on comms between the supplier, to the charge-point provider and onto to the charge-point, or via the vehicle manufacturer onto the vehicle, with the added possibility of clashes between the timing/settings in the vehicle vs charge-point. So a lot more potential for problems in the chain of communications, or problems with the interaction between the vehicle and the charge-point. -
Why just add a small amount? The level sensors in these cars are very approximate (I don't think they've changed in decades). Just fill it up or the system won't know you've done anything.

****ed with a potentially large repair bill from a Toyota main dealer 🤣 Toyota factor in a large safety reserve when the low fuel warning light illuminates for a reason - running a Toyota / Lexus hybrid out of fuel is not recommended & don't expect the repair bill to be covered under warranty.

The OP didn't say it's a liquid leak. ... The liquid line pipe. Like he said. It's hard to tell on these forums whether a new entrant knows what he's talking about, but I try to at least begin by believing they might.

was away for a few days holiday, so decided to see what the average over the tank of fuel was for my corolla TS, started off with a full tank. traveled 653.9km / 408.6 miles over a few days, mix of country roads and motorway driving. returned home car was showing 93km range left. filled tank again, and it took 30.55L to fill. that works out at 60.8mpg average for the 30.55L used. one of the drives through the mountains was showing as 3.9L/100 km / 72mpg for a 51km drive.

Auto high beam - does it actually work properly?

Don’t know about recalls, but I don’t have any problems with it nor in the mark3 either. I drive quite a lot on country roads, and sometimes in through towns and I wouldn’t be without it. -

IMHO, assuming wheel alignment and tyre pressures are good. Either poor quality tyres or weak shock absorbers What tyres do you have ? Does car drive straight ? not pulling left or right Does this sliding feel like understeer or oversteer ?

Auto high beam - does it actually work properly?

My old Auris has better AHB than this 2020 Corolla. I have seen the various posts on here about AHB. On this Corolla it switches on even when there are streetlights, doesn't auto off with oncoming cars, auto off when slowing for traffic lights. I have had to turn AHB off completely because it is rubbish. So that's lane alert / lane centering and now AHB have turned off cos they just do not work properly, and am very wary of using radar cruise because if I change lanes coming up to a stop, it doesn't apply the brakes. Is there a recall to get new software for any of these "safety systems"? Thanks. -
The low fuel warning is just a warning; Other than that, like a normal car it will happily run until it's totally empty and then you're ****ed. What's the problem anyway? Just put some fuel in the damned thing!!
