cep32 started following Deeper steering wheel for Rav4
-
I'm looking for options to bring the steering wheel of my Rav4 a bit closer to me. I'm 6'8" tall so well outside the design range for the car I imagine. Steering wheel spacers seem pretty expensive by the time I ship them here to New Zealand and get them installed and certified. Is there a steering wheel from another model that is deeper and would essentially plug and play? I've read that the a lot of the steering wheels will fit physically but can't find any dimensions anywhere to know what to look for. Thought I'd ask here before I start wandering round car yards with a tape measure. Cheers, Chris

152bobby started following Toyota Yaris Cross - noise
-
My YC has the original Goodyear tyres and I have been monitoring them very closely and I noticed that when driving, the noise varies considerably depending on the road surface and to be honest, it's the loudest road noise I have noticed in all the cars I have owned. In the UK they seem to just lay any old crap. When on a motorway it's ridiculous how many times the road surfaces change. I'll definitely not buy the same Goodyears that are currently on my YC. So, I'll be doing my research nearer the time of change. For me along with the lowest dB level, it must be a all round year tyre and have the best stopping in wet and dry. A big ask, but that's what I want.

Hello Ian - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

Just bought a 2010 Aygo in need of a bit of TLC. Not particularly mechanically minded but seems easy to work on - so far.

12 volt battery mysteriously losing charge & car won't start
SDR replied to Pannett's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
I can't speak for every make/model but I never heard of an extra battery being fitted. Some manufacturers do 'tweak' models for emergency services and that may include larger batteries, enhanced alternators, etc.. The key is to keep the battery charged by using what is referred to above as a run lock system. Driver presses a hidden button, exits and locks vehicle leaving the engine running (or a hybrid in ready mode, I suppose). If anyone breaks in, pressing the brake (auto) or clutch (manual) stops the engine. -
12 volt battery mysteriously losing charge & car won't start

N. I am using battery monitor via bluetooth & for the last 9 or 10 weeks solar charging using 3 solar panels. So I now for the present do not need to use mains charging it may change in the winter months only time will tell. Today I have changed back to my Yuasa 45Ah battery this was removed to cary out a desulphation process process that takes about 4 or 5 hours 10 weeks ago since then its used a simlar solar charging process. Note the old MuTlu will never regain its lost capacity but it still works well with solar charging setup above. -

Yes it fades after a while, I'm not sure how long the trail remains until it disappears. Anyway, it's an optional feature and can be enabled or disabled in the settings. -

1. It enables to retrace a route without setting a destination. 2. It reminds you of route that you might not wish to repeat. If it is like earlier breadcrumbs, it does not remain beyond a certain limit. -
12 volt battery mysteriously losing charge & car won't start

I wonder how the police charge the second battery fo all there extra kit?. -
thanks for all the info, the price difference between the HEV and PHEV would cover a lot of petrol. I would keep the car for 1-2 years, so battery issues would be less of a concern, however I wonder what the depreciation is like on the PHEV model compared to the HEV.

It shows paths you've driven in the past, as far as I've noticed, density of dots correlates with times you've used a certain road. -
