Is Yaris Cross key/fob able to be reprogrammed?
flash22 replied to JimRoyle's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
its a key it can be reprogrammed -
if the acc 12v is dropping during crank or not feeding the ECU it will cause the ECU not to turn on properly unless you have something pulling down the network like faulty ABS or EPS checking all the fuses may not be a bad idea making sure the sockets are tight and clean and unplugging and replugging the wiring to the back of the cluster have you tried to get the ecu to flash any codes out by linking pins 4 and 13 of the obd2 port

Problem with satnav module on Toyota Yaris 2018
spetros1 replied to spetros1's topic in Audio/Video/Electronics
After hours of searching i have found that all connections are ok but it takes too long to switch at touch 2 and Go screen menu and crashing all the time. Its too slow at the menus . Handsfree is not working correctly and its too slow to touch response ( if it not crashing and i must restart the unit again ) I cant find what is wrong with it, Thank you. -
Tyres or road then? We were driving down the M180. This is a 'proper' motorway. You can drive at whatever speed you like on whatever lane you like given the light traffic. In placed it has the original concrete and others smooth tarmac. Road noise simply disappears on the tarmac; it went so quiet I wondered what was wrong. I am driving on original Goodyear Eco Comfort. I think the next YC will have Falken.

2023/2024 Satnav Screen Legend/Key
Paul john replied to Corolly Poly's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
Can you show a screen shot of what you mean? -
Is there anything that explains how some roads are displayed? For example why do some roads have little circles along them? They are not always on the planned route and do not correlate with any particular road type.

Not affordable either to do or to sell.

That was sorted it was fuse number 11 15amp at the left side of the speedo that's been checked and is all good I've also tried putting the key and push it up as I turn the key

So could the OP upgrade the sound deadening to bring it up to 24 spec as I’m sure that would help…. Just a thought

It's such an easy thing to do these days that I think it's deliberate. Makes sense as the time to catch people's attention is when the tank is nearer empty than full. (The low light is the "Wake up you dozy half-wit" point.)

I think 45Ah is too small for the vehicle When I go to test drive the car I will double check what battery it has fitted as I’d much prefer it had something similar (52Ah) to what I have in the Prius I also like Yuasa batteries as I have used them in the past with no problems
-
I know that - I was just highlighting that Toyota have now upgraded the Yaris Cross due to customer feedbacks / complaints about noise, its a known characteristic of the Yaris Cross.

Years ago there were three of us colleagues who worked together. At the time I (A) had a fairly newish Hillman Minx, (B) had an older Hillman Minx, and (C) the apprentice had an old, well worn Standard Vanguard. At oil change time we got together at my home garage. (A) changed his oil for new, (B) drained his oil and passed it to (C), and filled up with oil from (A). (C) topped up his oil from that taken from (B)’s car and saved surplus in a can.for later. (C) never changed his oil because the car burnt it so fast. He just kept on storing up any oil he could get from various colleagues when their oil was changed, and used that to top us his own car. We nicknamed his car “Smokey Joe.”

The OP has a 23, or older, YC I am sure that a tyre change might help a bit but maybe also some sound deadening applied in the correct places would help too Unfortunately I can’t help with that

A bit more Googling suggests the AirCon squeal is often down to its compressor belt or bearing. The latter doesn't sound cheap.

Noise complaints will be part of the reason that the 24 model year Cross has been tweaked. " Improvements have also been applied to how occupants are isolated from noise and vibrations through the powertrain. A dynamic damper has been added to the left-side engine mount; a resonator has been fitted to the intake hose; the inner dash silencer has been changed from a single layer to a three-layer construction; and an extra layer of felt has been added to the cowl top silencer. To combat wind and road noise, thicker glass is used across the windscreen and side windows "

It's normal - In most Toyotas with the digital fuel gauge instead of analogue dial, you can do over 100miles before the first block disappears, but sadly the rest tend to go faster after that. It's partly because the tanks are slightly V-shaped but the fuel senders (*still*) haven't been calibrated to take this into account as they just read how high the fuel level is in the tank and not actually how much fuel is left. That said the newer ones aren't as bad as some of the older models (In my old Mk2 Yaris, the first 2 blocks really represented half the tank, and the other 6 the remaining half!! )

I have the same problem between A3(M) junction and M23 (Gatwick) and my Prius is normally very quiet
-
Chas I agree, the Cross is noisy, mainly tyre/road noise and the constant drone from the engine bay, from the rear it feels like a rear window has been left slightly open. I lined the boot area with sound deadening, not much, if any difference, good luck
