How to permanently disable excess speed notification?

That wouldn't apply to much Toyota stock - Toyota have been building compliant cars for well over a year now ... You'd probably have to find an unused 2022MY RAV4 that they now couldn't sell!

    Rust and warranty

Therefore it won't be covered by warranty. A chip repair person will smarten it up a bit and stop it getting worse.
  4. I wonder if we will see garage stock that doesn't comply dropping in price massively this and next month...!

    Rust and warranty

Looks like stone chip damage or similar.
  7. "brimming it" these days means stopping at the first click off.
  8. I've read on here you have to be careful "brimming it" on the Corolla. Can contaminate something I think?
  9. My Yaris is only 2.5 years old, and I have noticed two small spots of rust near the wheels. Where should I start? Should I try removing it with some chemical solution, or should I head directly to the warranty department for assistance?
  10. Main Engine Wire Harness replacement from junkyard.. no repair manual all common Sense

How to permanently disable excess speed notification?

There are alternatives to the "cascading acoustic alert" - though I am really not sure that they would be any better or less annoying. There is a legislative requirement to make the system easy to reenable while driving. If that piece is implemented well, it should be equally easy to disable the acoustic alert while driving - which doesn't appear to be the case in current Toyota or Lexus models. And, on top of that, with increasing 'personalisation' it should be possible for manufacturers to comply with the legislation by resetting the alert system when the car is turned on and then automatically configure the car to the driver's requirement in terms of seating position, display and alert settings. Well, we can but hope ...

    Part No. Identification

Folks, Can anyone help identify this part no. please ? Rear suspension Control arm, bushing came with inner however I need the bushing and bolt part No. to fit the outer if someone could point me in the right direction. 2008 Rav4 D4d 2.2 Thanks, Paul
  13. Agree with all of those points bar two: 1: The average mpg in our car sits at 51 but 95% of the driving is daily short distance around. I'm happy with that. I'd bite your hand off for 60mpg. 2: Golf clubs. You have to lower the rear seats. Really ! What bag do you have? We chose this car for that very reason. It will take large caddy bag ( without having to remove the driver ) AND a powakaddy electric cart - easy peasy. To create even more space, I've split the boot height so 50% is floor level, 50% is higher level. That gives some under floor storage for odds and ends. I rarely drive our car but took it to Edinburgh last week, one of it's very rare visits on a motorway, first time I've personally driven it on a motorway in all it's 9 months. Bloom'n heck, talk about loud !!! I've said this elsewhere in a review, it's acceptable around town but It's not a car I'd chose for a longer journey. I find the seat base fine and I'm 5' 10". That said it's a small car so it's never going to work for tall people. We have the sport - I'm assuming the front seats are the same just a different material? dunno.
  14. This will be the case for any new car that has been type approved since July 2022. It will apply to any new car sold from July 2024 even if it hasn't had a model upgrade since 2022. I believe it also applies to vehicles in "stock" that must have it retrofitted. I suppose the only variation between manufacturers is the sound and volume of the alert, or how accessible they make it to temporarily disable.

    New Yaris vs Honda Jazz

Yes stick with Toyota young Bev have you got a friendly Toyota dealer near by like I have ? Have a trip to the showroom have coffee and hob nob and have a good look at the new Yaris
  17. Short journeys, don't see a problem with over 50mpg especially the weather only just starting to creep up in temp. Would say the car is perfectly normal.
  18. I found that , as the mileage increases so does the fuel economy, winter takes a hit, mine was down to as low as mid fifties but that’s still good…

    Hi

Hi Shaun, Welcome to the Toyota owners club.
  20. Another thing... When is the tank filled up? 1. click or full to the very brim? It's a 2 liter difference. Some pumps are extremly sensitive, and cuts off from the very start, only allowing fuel to go in very slow. My old 2004 Corolla was a true pain to fill, and allmost impossible to fill properly. Local pumps can vary in the amount measured. I mostly fill up with 0 mile left and my local Shell pumps is 38,5 liters. Other pumps can be as high as 40 liters with the same 0 mile left indication.

Corolla estate 1.8 range on a full tank.

Mainly round t own.. Semi rural type driving.... 200 miles a day so only 1 cold start which makes a big difference.

    New Yaris vs Honda Jazz

I’ve read a bit more about the new Honda Jazz and it seems to be giving owners some problems None of these Jazz can be older than 4 years and most have low mileage but the list of failures are: Brake failure, folding door mirror failure, seat base sides cracking and windscreen delaminating It’s really put me off a Jazz. I wouldn’t mind if Honda gave a 10 year warranty like Toyota but you only get 5 years It is such a shame because I really love the design of the Jazz I think I will have to stick to Toyota
  23. A photo of the part you're talking about would be welcome. 🙂

  25. Mine is booked in for oil change next Monday. It was last changed in December 2021 at 27000 miles, and topped up to the full mark on the dipstick. The car has now done just over 33000 miles, and in the last 6000 miles the oil level has not moved off the full mark on the dipstick. It has used pretty much no oil at all. I always make a point of checking the oil level once a month, but it just doesnt use any.

    Dead DA and dead battery

If you have a multimeter handy, I would measure the residual current draw. This should help identify any obvious parasitic draws, before delving any further into the cause. Put multimeter in 10 amp mode in series between a battery terminal and take a reading once it stabilises (with ignition off). Once you have your reading then connect the battery as normal. Anything more than 100mA (0.1A) parasitic draw would be a cause for concern.
  27. The fix on the Yaris Cross was - BE-00734T-TME it might be worth checking with your dealer if this will work on the Aygo X.
