That'll be the wife. AKA as the federal government.

For the difficult removal of the original wiper this wd-40 silicone spray could have helped a lot.

Usually yes, best way is directly to the battery terminal. Although the under bonnet points are direct connection to the 12v battery, yours might have been dead already.
-
Striking is the term that I would use. I really like it.

Hi Paul. Welcome. I’m a new member too. Took delivery of my first Toyota this week. Its a 2024 Yaris design with safety pack and I love it. I’ve found the forum very helpful.

No the mk3 uses a single 26" flat blade, the bosch aerotwin is £16-18 quid
-
After 4 hours the battery doesn't seem any better. I'm guessing that the terminal under the bonnet is not the correct place to connect a charger? i.e. I should connect it directly to the battery in the boot?

Good point. If the car has A/C and it is switched it on, the fan will come on more frequently, in fact, it only stops running briefly and comes back on again.

Mark, is your friend referring to ALL types of electric cars, including hybrids (HEVs)? After owning my 2021 C-HR for just over a year now, I have not yet found any downsides to suggest I have made a mistake in my purchase. Any personal criticisms that I might have would apply if the car was solely ICE powered. Unless your friend can provide genuine technical reasons for his opinion, then I’m afraid it is just that - an opinion.

For the rubber inserts?

AJones started following HEV to EV?
-
But the decision depends largely on the charging and range issue. If you can't charge at home then stick with the HEV. If you can, then you can't really go wrong with a PHEV, you can shift your short trips entirely to electric but after a while the limited electric range does start to annoy a bit. The HEV mode does mean you never have to worry wherever you go and the Toyotas still give impressive efficiency operating as pure HEVs. Whereas many manufacturer's PHEVs generally deliver pretty poor to mediocre efficiency when running in HEV modes. The EV infrastructure is improving, there's a lot more rapid charge points going in everywhere, so for driving around the UK, if buying a car today I'd jump for an EV rather than a PHEV. No, not at new car prices because they lose so much money in the first few years. Plus I'm not a fan of these over-sized SUV type models built like a small tank. The Toyota bZ3 looks good, but they're not selling it in Europe.

….and whether the a/c is on.

APS started following Why does my radiator fan come on
-
If the car is left idling and up at normal working temperature then yes the fan will come on at regular intervals. Completely normal. How come you ask - has the behaviour changed do you think? Or have you just not noticed this before? How often it comes on depends on the ambient temperature of course. In winter it will take longer for the fan to come on compared to summer.

Input Shaft transmission damper 2021 Yaris
anchorman replied to Tony Schuck's topic in Yaris & Yaris Cross Club
I’m not sure I understand that Tony. They couldn’t get the parts. It’s easy to run away with the idea covid fallout never happened but there are still knock on shortages. I’m sure if parts had been available they’d have got you out of the way pdq. It’s what they are famous for. -
Thinking of getting a Toyota corolla
JasonM replied to Jacko25's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
Hi Jacko, as a recent convert to the 23 Corolla TS I can strongly recommend, my views are very much as has been said above, Major positives:- Reliable and well built running costs (55 real world mpg and lower road tax bracket, no cam belt or clutch or expensive dsg servicing) very smooth to drive and relaxing nice driving position and good controls. Minor negatives to me :- not as enjoyable to thrash around country roads, handling is good enough but transmission not suited to this manner of driving. a little bit noisy on rough roads compared to cars like A3, golf but still fine. towing limited to a trailer (750kg) Boot is 10% smaller than some rivals (Octavia) but bigger than an Audi A6 or BMW 5 series touring. not many cubbyholes for internal storage. Overall a great car and as Wharcar decided best in class in 2024. -
I rather liked Boris. Not so keen on blue or red at the moment, I think we’re right up wotsit creek without a paddle. I’ve never considered myself a treehugger but I do think we’ve ripped into the planet’s resources a bit too much from the industrial age right up to now so we should try to moderate our actions for future generations. That was quite profound for me…. On your bike Greta.

machineage started following OEM Radio Upgrade to BT / Handsfree?
- Today
-
Hi all We have a 2012 1.0 Edition Yaris with a basic 53865 radio installed (see photo). We are looking at handsfree phone options for the car. Phone is an iPhone SE (2020) running the latest iOS. Whilst I have already looked at standalone visor mounted solutions, I wondered if it's possible to change the radio out for one which offers handsfree, maybe a better spec'd OEM radio fitted to other Yaris models? Can anyone tell me if this is possible to do, and if so what's involved? Thanks!

I have a 2006 Yaris 1.3 vvti and basically when on idle the radiator fan will come on roughly every 10 minutes is this normal or is it a sign the car is over heating ?

Hello, can you give me a link from where do you download the 17TDT1EU-DA30 ?? -
I recently added noise deadening pads to my 23 TS in the wheel arches, doors, boot and under bonnet. Definitely an improvement probably 20% reduction in noise going by ear not measured. Other side benefits are better sounding sound system, improves door shut clunk and reduces outside noise from other cars. Changed tyres to Mitchelin Primacy 4+ and again a similar improvement but not quite as much as I hoped for. Finally I need to do the floor where I think a lot of road noise leaks into the cabin. Rather than removing seats and carpets I am going to apply under the car beneath the spray trays which are a lot easier to remove than carpets. I think then it will be as good as I can achieve and perfectly good for me for a car in this price range.

I am glad that your wife is doing it that way. 😉 I currently have the Yaris Cross and, whilst a comfortable, very nice and economical car to drive, it is not doing a lot for me, hence the possible, (okay, probable), change to the new C-HR. Unless of course, somebody talks me out of it!

taxidriver50005 replied to taxidriver50005's topic in Corolla & Corolla Cross Club
I personally know of 3 other corolla's besides my own that have had all 4 injectors replaced under warranty, dealer told me he ALWAYS replaces all 4 unless the owner is paying and then it just the faulty one. -
