Corolla Alloy Wheel Protection ... Recommendations Please

Hi all,

The original finish on my alloys was always absolute crap and a real disappointment with a hell of a lot of bubbling and flaking (had them all replaced, some twice, when in warranty) so took the plunge and just had my Corolla alloys completely refurbished :D .. stripped right back, powder coated etc. I want to make sure I look after the investment since it wasn't cheap so .. any recommendations for what I can use to protect them?

Cheers

Tried and still got loads of types but save yourself the trouble(and money) of looking any further and go straight for Wheel Seal and Shine

Its one of the best irrespective of price.

Poorboy's Wheel Sealant, 3 coats of it should see you right and top it up as needed

Poorboys as above or chemical guys wheel guard is also a similar very good product.

Wheel seal&shine is a very good product for the price. I've heard mixed comments on both poorboys & chemical guys. But remember that you don't need to use a dedicated wheel sealant, most body sealants will suffice, for instants:

Fk1000p

Zaino Zcs - spray sealant (high price)

Optimun Optiseal - spray sealant (high price)

There are loads more available. I've used fk1000p and two layers will give you a very good protection. At the moment though i'm using Migliore wheel sealant and its very good. I used about 3 layers and its still going strong.

Although they have just been powdercoated, I would still clay the wheels just to get rid of any particles then put another base down to give the wheels a shine. I used Poorboys blackhole glaze (better for darker colours) not sure what colour your new rims are!! Then put a couple of layers of your wheel sealant of choice

Hope that helps

If you want to get around the problem change the alloy wheels for non standard, Toyota alloys are crap.
