oh how disappointing lol. ive seen stuff like this before on eBay and knew they were fake but found this from a link posted on here so i was maybe too trusting. yeah lol about the 50bhp, i was expecting more llike 5, but anything i can do myself really seduces me as im not very car-literate. and not got a great relationship with my mechanic lol.

i thought it just tricked the ecu innto thinking the air was cooler and allowed more air/fuel mx in the engine. or is that onl the propper ones?

anyway thanks for the heads up.

haha i like the top pic :) thats probly about as much use as my air box will be when ive butchered it.

There's no need to trick the ECU into thinking the airs cooler when you can just make a CAI.

I've seen a lot of these supposed performance chips around and most of them charge £10 when they can honestly be built for around 10p

LOL

You don't necessarily have to have the best relationship with your mechanic to be able to do mods etc to your motor.

I've got a great relationship with my MOT tester but that's about it, and before joining this forum I had noooo clue about cars what so ever.

The guys on here are a massive help and can guide you through most things. :)

yeah same, this forum is whats pushed me to start doing more things to my car again. because before i honestly didnt have a clue. still feel a bit lost but at least i have a lot of things on my list waiting for £. next big thing is exhaust but im too scared to go to a garage  but i think im gonna use that eBay sellr who sells universals cus they offer fitting and its not too far away.

thanks to all the people who didnt lol too hard. :) and thanks for all the help

ask whether or not they charge for the fitting!

cos some have massive hidden costs.

I'd seriously advise you to get it done by a custom exhaust specialist then you'll have the peace of mind of it being a top notch job :)

lol just dont do it it will do more harm than good

i thought it just tricked the ecu innto thinking the air was cooler and allowed more air/fuel mx in the engine. or is that onl the propper ones

yep thats it most of them fool the ecu into thinking there is cooler/denser air coming in so ups the fuel to compensate just making you engine run rich! the first thing to go would be that cat because of all the unburnt fuel  then all manner of things

just strip out the interior you get much better results lol and it costs nothing

Please please please dony get fooled into beliveing an in line blower fan or a resisitor is going to give you 50hp.

IT WILL NOT HAPPEN.

ALL YOU WILL GET WITH THESE ARE EMPTY POCKETS NO INCREASE in powre AND A FUEL COMPUTER WHICH READS INCORRECTLY.

I cannot believe (no offence meant here) that there are members on here that naive!

As it reads on the web site.................

Engine Performance Chip’s computer modules will tune your factory ECU instead of replacing it for a fraction of the cost. Our performance chips modify the signal to your ECU to trick it into thinking that the engine is tuned for more power. This in turn causes the ECU to send more spark and air into the engine giving you more horsepower. Our performance chips are custom tuned for each engine to ensure that you are receiving the maximum amount of horsepower available.

More spark are they having a laugh........

More air............only if its turbo/supercharged.

Cant stop laughing yet............

Performance chips are used for getting best and better efficiency. Performance chips are being used these days at large scale. The uses of these chips are varying from individual customers. Some wants to get high speed, others want minimum fuel consumptions and quality with quantity.performance parts
