Oil Change

Does anyone know how often I should change the oil on my 2.2TD Lucida. An imported owners manual suggests every 5,000km - 3,000 miles. The garage I had my warrantee service carried out at said it would last a year (15,000 miles). I think the truth is somewhere between the two!

every 9000 miles or 1'ce a year whatever comes first should do it.

I changed the oil last weekend after 11,000km (7,000miles) and certainly no major deterioration to see. Apart from the very black colour.

I would think a lot would depend on what sort of driving, a lot of stop start hard acceleration would see the oil deteriorate a lot quicker then cruiseing the motorway only at legal speeds of course orificer, hard thrashing on the motorway would kill the oil quicker, don't forget to the let the turbo cool down if you've just driven hard before turning the engine off, a minute or 2 should do it.
