hello everyone

im new and i just wanted to say hello. im from the US and i have a tercel. i know you are all now thinking, "a tercel?!! what business does he have here?" i am a toyota fanatic and sadly enough i can only afford tercels at this point in my life. rest assured, i am not representing toyota by driving around a stock version of one of the SLOWEST economy cars they have ever manufactured. the tercel shares many components with quite a few cars that are popular to modify in other countries. for instance, you can bolt in a starlet 4e-fte or a cynos b/sera 5e-fhe. anyway, my car is too much of a disgrace to show you guys pictures of it now, so i will when i am a little more proud of her. i myself have done the 5e-hfe swap. and was an almost 50% horsepower increase according to toyota's flywheel horsepower ratings. :) ok, i have gone on long enough, let me know if you guys have any questions.

vince

edit: will one of the moderators edit the description of my thread, i meant it to say "drive" not "drove" and i dont know how to fix it. thanks!

thanx for welcoming me nezzer. it appears that this board is a bit slow on the responses. what are the most active areas, or how do i find that out (search/stats feature)? thanks for your help.

hiya buddy, welcome aboard....

As you'll soon find out it's not the speed of the car that matters, it's an openhouse for all people that love their toyota's ether there slow economy cars, 4x4's or highly modded monsters, all are welcome and get on as well as can be :)

Hi Vince,

you'll find that the board varies in speed day-to-day. Yesterday I found that there were not very many people active at all. Personally I was fairly busy with work, and I dodn't notice your post - sorry  I noticed your contribution to the Chassis/Engine thread. Thank you for that.

Welcome aboard anyway. You'll find that this General Discussions board is what it says it is: general stuff. It is normally fairly active. More technical stuff you'll find in the specialised boards. I don't really know where a Tercel fits in the scheme of things... as it's an L chassis, maybe in the Paseo/Cynos board? Or in the general Family one? Hopefully someone else will be able to guide you there.

This is an old model Tercel, as sold in the UK (more or less)

There is a newer model out that is not available in Europe (AFAIK):

To keep the alliteration, wouldn't it be:

'Seos, Seras, Starlets & 'Cels?

Just being silly

yes, yes it would! i have some pictures of a 91-94 tercel, but i am not sure how to show you guys. my generation tercel is the one a step under the green one that yannick posted. i guess it would make sense that the time would be vastly different. oh, i would go to the seos, starlets, and seras section. a lot of the parts are interchangable. my generation tercel (or mark, as you guys would refer to it) is almost identical to the paseo. the differences are in the body of course. there are many, many, many interchangeable parts for me from seos and starlets. im not sure about seras, but i guess i will find out huh? thanks for the warm welcom guys. if someone will show me how, i will post some pictures of my car in it's current state and how it was when i got it.

Here a couple of answers to your questions:

thanks, i was also wondering about something.  i have the ability to only make 100 posts with my free account, correct?  after that how uch does it cost me to get a membership?  not in pounds ;).  thanks guys.

The 100 post limit: your free accont lasts indeed 100 posts. There are 3 levels of membersip open to you that allow you to post unlimited numbers of posts: Bronze, Silver & Gold. For more information click here!

Basically here are the current prices:

Bronze: £10 ($18.33)

Silver: £15 ($27.50)

Gold: $25 ($45.84)

A good site for currency conversion is the Universal Currency Converter

The exchange rate at the moment is about £1.00 = $1.83 (or $1.00 = £0.55)

yes, yes it would! i have some pictures of a 91-94 tercel, but i am not sure how to show you guys.

To post a picture, go to the TOC Galleries and choose which gallery you want to upload to. Once you are in a gallery you'll find a menu on the top right that says <<Admin options>> (see the pic below)

pic1.thumb.gif

It'll open a new window where you can browse your hard drive for your pictures:

pic2.gif

Once you've uploaded your pics to the gallery, you can open the properties of the picture (using the right mouse button over the picture) and copy the address. In the message composition window you then click on the IMG button and paste the address you copied from the properties. Watch out: the address is case-sensitive!

If you need any more help, give us a shout
