Gear Cables

Does anyone know how easy it is to change the cables that go from the shifter to the gearbox?

I have had a look at all the information on 2zzge.com and it seems to indicate that i need to

"1. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSY (See page 55–17)

HINT:

Refer to the instructions for removal of the air conditioner unit assy.

2. SEPARATE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER

(a) Remove the 3 bolts, separate the airbag sensor assy center.

3. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSY (See page 15–2)

4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR NO.1

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and heat insulator No.1."

Basically do i have to do all the above 1st?

Now i know i should just get under and have a look but i can't today and was just wondering if any1 has done it on here.
