My Rav4 keeps jumping out of 5th gear!

Started this afternoon. No other symptoms. Gear selection is fine. I can hold it in with 1 finger, prone to come out on excelleration.

Is this doom and gloom?

If you are mechanically minded you can do it yourself while the gearbox stays in. Kingo will send you the parts.

Wish i was, but no. I do have a regular mechanic who will do the work for me, he's very good and reasonable.

New to this forum, who is Kingo please? Thanks for your help, feel alot better now to know the gearbox has not got to be removed..

Hi Anchorman, The thread indicates a PULLER! Would you know the dimentions? Think my mechanic needed the thread diameters to fabricate one.

Many thanks Adie

Not exactly but show him this and he will probably fathom it out. He just needs to take the end case off and do a bit of measuring or use the new gear. Read all the way down to post No5;

There are some dimensions in post no 44.
