Can someone plaese tell me whats the use of the blue plug at the rear of the B9004 head unit. Thx

Yep, it's a digital video input, to a standard called "GVIF". I've never managed to activate it. I expect/wonder if you got hold of a lexus/toyota DVD player with dig video output, it may well use it. Anybody got one? Think they might be rare and US only?

I believe it needs some comms with the headunit on the avclan, to get it to work, but I've never managed to suss out the exact bus addresses needed or the bus transactions. Have tried a fair bit though.

It would be great as a reasonable definitiion monitor (OK you can do low res PAL with the rev camera input). The Prius uses the same GVIF for its function display.

Thanks mate, very satisfied with your reply but its a pity that Toyota doesn't offer any equipment, such as DVD player or a car PC which can be directly connected through this connector.
