Sat Nav Unit Removal

Hi guys. So I'm trying to find out the best way to remove the sat nav unit so i can connect my iPod/iPhone/iPad up to it. I removed the glove box but cannot get any where near the back of it. As there is no way in heaven or on earth I am paying a Toyota garage to do it for me, is there anyone who can provide clear instructions? Any help would be appreciated!
