Split Rims

My split rims need a tidy. I'm thinking, as they are polished outer rims and sprayed inners of leaving the outers as they are and having the inner's stripped back to the alloy and polished. Anybody had this done!. How much elbow grase is required to keep them looking good. The car gets a clean at least once a week, will it be enough to keep the wheels looking the bizz.

Cheers, Gday.

I've done mine. They're Koenig Imagine 17's on my 1990 MR2 GT Turbo.

I used paint stripper to remove the laquer from the rims (don't do as I did and sit in a small puddle of it and burn your a**!).

Polished the rims with a fine grit wet and dry, to remove any blemishes, then used a polishing kit (you can get a decent one from any motorcycle spares place) to bring up the shine. Once they were shining like stars, I re-laquered them with a decent clear laquer. Looks top now.

It took me best part of a weekend to do a decent job, but it was well worth the effort.
