"i Q Meeting"

Hi everyone

It looks like there are a few people interested in an iQ owners' meeting in the London area, so I thought it might be good to devote a new topic to it.

A venue with a nice backdrop would be good, any suggestions? What about dates/times? Let's do it sooner rather than later, so that we can benefit from the sunshine!

Incidentally, all topics on this forum automatically start with an uppercase letter, so I thought I'd be clever and try "_iQ"... I failed... :D

In London or outside?

I'm in Surrey / Sussex but could head oop north for a meet. :)

Is Brooklands too far outside?

What's the postcode for the area you're thinking of, Craig? Great that you're interested!

It is quite a way outside London thinking about it.

Brooklands Museum, They have a large car park and quite a few car clubs meet there in the evenings. Not sure what the rules are though so you may need permission and they may lock the gates after hours.

How about somewhere like Dulwich? It could be handy for Londoners but not too far for you to travel, Craig...?

That wouldn't be too bad for me. I've ventured as far as IKEA in Croydon before and it's not far beyond that. :D

How about IKEA in Amsterdam? :drunk:

You'd have to pay for yourselves to get there - going Dutch.

Thought it was Terry Scott and Hugh Lloyd in The Gnomes of Dulwich.

We could all meet at the Woolwich Ferry on the south side, as there is a car park.

Then we should try and time it so that we fill the ferry up with iQ's.

It will probably be a record for the amount of cars on the ferry at any one time.

I used to work at the big Satellite station on the North side next to the ferry

Think it has a capacity of 15-20 vehicles - or maybe 25-30 IQ's

If enough people were interested in this idea I would make a call to the people that run the ferry and ask them if there was an official/unofficial record of the most amount of cars on the ferry "At any one time".

And then ask them that if there were a record.... could have a shot at the title?

But if there isn't a record of any kind.... I'll ask if we could be the first to set one.

Ha Sweet Dentist, I like the idea to go to IKea in Amsterdam, but Delft is more close to my home.

When do we organize a meeting in Holland?

Zou een hele fijne zijn Neelix / Delft is prima voor mij. Ook een hele fijne en leuke stad trouwens.

Yes Neelix...would be fun... Delft is a very nice and old village (eh city) with canals and sutch...

Love the idea of another meeting.

Ken je meer iQ'ers?
Do you know more iQ owners we can ask?

Greetz.,

Peter

Ben aan het proberen meerdere iQ eigenaren te vinden van vroeger...

o.a.

Barry Hendriksen wil graag mee doen...

Beste Peter,

Ik heb alleen nog contact met Alfons en Margo.

Dear Peter,

My only contacts are Alfons and Margo.

So it will be a very, very, very small meeting.....

A meeting is a meeting...

The smaller the merrier? The former meetings were also small / my first one was with 6 people during a rainy day.

but one of the last ones was with about 10!!!

And this RED one is not even mine... :-D

Ik ken misschien nog Ruud RDW.... Ik heb Barry al gevraagd andere namen door te geven als hij meer weet.

Ik still know Rood... I have asked Barry to mention more iQowners he knows.\

A quartet is better than a meeting with oneself.

  • 2 months later...

Bit late on this thread sorry.

Well I'm up in Herts, so a trundle into Town is always welcome. The Woolwich ferry idea sounds fantastic !!!

Any meet must surely be a good one.

These little lovelies need to get some interaction with all their brothers and sisters.

If I've missed any meet - dammit, but if not, hope there's something in the pipelines.

I'll be there for one....
