Auris 2008 Steering Wheel Commands With Pioneer Avh-X8600Bt

Hello,

My mechanic failed to connect the steering wheels controls of my Auris 2008 on my new car stereo Pioneer AVH-X8600BT (http://www.pioneer.eu/chf/products/25/109/281/AVH-X8600BT/page.html)

Does anyone know if this is possible via an adapter?

Thank you and Happy New Year!
Patrick

Link isn't working - presumably due to the spacing.

What adapter is needed to allow my Sony bt206 to work with my car? It's an 08 auris

The Connects2 adaptor in both link comes in two pieces 1 to interface with the car and the other specific to the headunit brand, On this site pick the main kit for the car the down the left of the screen pick the Sony specific adaptor http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/ctsty001-2-stalk-adapter-for-toyota-avensis

I saw them, however wasn't sure which model I needed to interface with the car. Thanks :)

Hi Devon Aygo,

Thanks for the links above but when I did a bit of research into these I couldn't find
anywhere where it specifically recommended a CTSTY001.2 as
being compatible with Auris. In your link it states Avensis and
from the Cennect 2 website it has a lot of models but no Auris.

I called and asked an adviser at one of the online retailers and he put me on hold and spoke

to someone at the manufacturer and he said a CTSTY001.2 is not compatible
with Auris. Doesn't know why.

Can anyone confirm that a CTSTY001.2 (plus manufacturer head unit specific patch lead) does

actually work in enabling steering wheel control on an Auris.

Your help would be much appreciated

Auris is a mostly European name for a Corolla, some of Europe and the rest of the world call the Auris a Corolla. When we needed to do this job on a customers 2007 Auris we went down to the car audio shop popped the new radio out and fitted the CTSTY001.2 + Sony adaptor and it worked fine.

Yeah I get the whole Corolla, Auris thing. I have seen a few other threads on this and it seems a few people have used it so I am going to take the plunge and get it ordered. I can't let my new Alpine sit on top of the bookcase any longer. Its going in once the bits arrive.

Thanks

Hello,

It's working perfectly on my Auris.

Btw Auris is not the european name of Corolla, this is another serie.

Regards,

Patrick

Thanks Patrick. The parts are on order and assuming I can put the right pins in the right holes I now have a lot more confidence they will work.
