Hi,

Everyone, I have recently developed some problems in toyota avensis 07. Firstly from last few weeks it was losing coolant so I was topping up regularly. last week mechanic has changed the water pump but after changing the pump next day the coolant was all over the engine cover and coolant reservoir was whistling like steam coming out of it

So he has removed the thermostat too bz it was too much pressure on the top hose, in between everything the temperature gauge never goes up, no blue smoke, car always get service on time every. 10,000k kilometres. It's mileage now 300000k,never abused, engine sound perfect no rattling, no visible leaks,

Just wondering anyone has the same problem

Brought it today to main dealer, he just open the bonut and put the finger in coolant and told me headgasket gone and walked away. After I have showed to few mechanic everyone telling different story, just confused now,

Have a look at the following topic - http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/132178-charliefarlies-guide-to-the-toyota-2ad-diesel-engine-and-its-issues/

Unfortunately being a 2007 vehicle and having done 300K km, it is beyond the goodwill period in terms of age and kilometres travelled.
