Auris Hybrid Tourer - Mid Range?

Hi,

I'm seriously considering an Auris hybrid tourer, most of my driving is urban and the commute is <15 miles per day of mostly stop start traffic with a bit of dual carriageway, storage is important as I need space for a baby buggy and all the usual gubbins that goes with kids ;-) but I also don't want something that's going to be a struggle when I need to get past an HGV safely (quickly), on an A-road. So I guess I'm looking for real world experience from any owners in terms of mid range acceleration with this car?

Thanks in advance!

Matt

I have an Auris Hybrid touring sports which has a huge luggage area and accelerates to 60 m.p.h inn 11 seconds. On the road - especially in power mode - it is a very capable car in terms of overtaking. With 50 m.p.g. as pretty much an average and no road tax, it's economical, too. I have a family of five and it copes extremely well.

Thanks Laurence, I'm not sure if I posted this question in the correct sub forum but either way it may be useful to other folks.

Cheers

the power mode is invaluable, especially when faced with a steep incline or the need for a quick overtaking manoeuvre, the engine in this mode revs a little more easier and is more responsive. A family of four plus dog all fit in with comfort.
