Rear Fog Light?

Hi all

I'm having trouble locating an error.

I'm the, somewhat, proud owner of a Auris from '07. It's a 1.4 D-4D.

My rear fog light isn't working. I've tried changing the bulb several times, and I've checked all fuses numerous times as well.

Have any of you experienced this?

Regards

Brian

Hello and welcome on TOC Brian!

Have you put your headligts first? Do your front fog lights light up? Are you aware that your fog light is only on one side, so the other side isn't even supposed to light up?

Hi

I'm well aware that there's only one rear fog light.

Headlights first, ofc. And my front fog lights are working just fine.

When I turn on the rear fog light on, the red light appears in the dash, like it's supposed to.

Regards

Hmm, interesting. Was it like that from the beginning or did it actually work before? Maybe it's a wire inside the connector which has come off? You can open the connector's top to see if all the wires are properly attached...

Interesting to some. I think it's rather annoying.

The Auris passed MOT in April, so I assume it worked at the time.

I vaguely recall testing the rear fog light last year. Noontheless it worked 2 years ago when I bought the car.

Do you have towbar electrics fitted ? As there is a cancellation switch inside the towbar socket to turn off the cars fog light when a trailer is connected, sometimes the little switch inside the socket sticks on when the trailer is removed.

Well, to me, as to every car enthusiast I think, the situation where everything seems to be correct but the system still isn't working is indeed interesting as it is a challenge to solve. It gets annoying only if it cannot be solved and nobody hasn't got ideas how could it be solved, but that point hasn't been reached yet :)
