2007 Avensis - P0098 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit High

Hi

First time poster and first time Toyota owner so please be patient with me.

I have just purchased a 2007 Avensis, 2.0 D4D T3 S and have had the engine light appear a day after I bought it.

I have had the code read and it comes up as P0098 intake air temperature sensor - sensor 2, circuit high. The code was read from a normal code reader. I have searched this forum and other forums and cannot find the information I need.

Where is this sensor located? What can cause this error to appear? Is it just a faulty sensor?

thanks in advance for your help.

Might be as part of maf sensor

On air tube after air filter

Many maf and air intake temp sensors are combined units these days

Maybey someone has had it out to clean maf and damaged sensor

Is it a screw on sensor? Asked euro car parts and they can't get the part.

Any ideas on part number or do I have to get it from the dealer?

called Toyota dealer and they want £115 for the sensor.

They mentioned the sensor is located on the right side near the air filter box. Not sure if they have confused that with the Air flow sensor.

The diagram above...is this for the avensis 2.0 D4D engine?
